I want to call your attention to the rise of Fascism as a solution to the inactions of Socialism. In the nineteen twenties Benito Mussolini rose to power in Italy with the help of only 30,000 fellow Italians known as the Black Shirts.

Indeed we are seeing many parallels to this in present day USA.
According to a book that I read on Mussolini, Mussolini was disgusted with the Socialists in western Europe who talked a good game but were **** poor when it came to action. Because of Mussolini's criticism of the Socialists they ostracized them and he went his own way.
I feel it necessary at this point to point out that Mussolini and Hitler deviated from the Socialist rule book in one very important way; Fiat, Daimler Benz, BMW, and the other major German/Italian corporations stayed in private hands.

Both Hitler and Mussolini radically altered political positions that they were elected to. It is troubling that Trump has this appreciation of political strong men and their ruthless methods of acquiring power. If you watch the video you will see how few people it actually took to establish a dictatorship over millions, and take both countries to war.
Some of you have mentioned universal health care. I don't agree with the Elizabeth Warren solution. What I could agree with is a Medicare buy in where the individual pays an affordable amount each month. The trend of American corporations away from an employee based work force and toward a contractor based work force makes a Medicare buy in much more attractive.

Even if your employer offers health insurance, the days of working for forty years for the same company are long gone. So you have all that in between time to cover.

Your definition you provided states why our current situation is not consistent with Totalitarianism.
1) Trump is not a Democrat.
2) Impeachment inquiry also includes Republicans that are also in the room, asking questions.
3) House vote for Impeachment does not remove the President therefore total power does not rest within the control of the Democratic party
Actually you made the case that Republicans are in a better position to fit the definition provided
1) President is a Republican
2) President welds complete control over the Attorney General (Bill Barr does not work for the American People, he serves 1 person) and Military
3) Senate has the power to REMOVE the President which is under Republican control
Your argument better fits second scenario I provided, but neither fits the definition of the Totalitarianism. The President and a Republican congress per the Constitution will have representation per a Trial in the Senate. The House only brings charges but does not have a say in the removal.

As far as the definition of totalitarianism don't think that the two party system is that open. Lets remember that when Ralph Nader was running for president he was kept out of the two party debate and he had a ticket. Like languages in large countries, Fascism has dialects and flavors.

Big difference. We do not want a revolution. We would like everyone to contribute to national health care. I do not want illegals included but I think all Americans should have decent health care available to them. Of course the very rich will pay more, just the same as with income taxes. It would probably be done with a national sales tax too because nothing is free. And even for the very poor, when they buy things there would be a small tax on it so the poor wouldn't be getting it for free.
Something I learned back in high school just came to mind: "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly"--got to go look that up. Yes, Thomas Paine in that essay that starts with, "These are the times that try mens souls. It can only be a few dollars, but if it's given to people for free, they take it for granted.
As for extreme forms of anything and revolutions and strip the rich of their wealth, I think it's was Trump's lover, Steve Bannon, who wanted a revolution and then to start all over. So we are seeing parallels if we read about Steve Bannon, a Trumpist.
Socialist Communism has never worked.. the government has no bottom line of spending , plus the incentive to work is gone. This brings down the actual worth of every person under Communist rule.. the more people that are working the stronger the tax base to pay the bills.. the more people taking services, the quality goes down and it costs more.. this is big government ... Those that don't work get what the workers get so the workers say, hell with this..
