The TG community does use the products... I'm not sure if you're under the impression that all people who go from female to male have surgery or hormone therapy? That is not the case. Many do not and continue to menstruate.
If it costs them millions, then apparently they think they will recoup that in sales in some way. Even if it is political, what difference does it make? They're a private company and can do what they want. Again, marketing decisions are made literally every minute and we (the general public) are not privy to probably 99 percent of them. Some are made for political purposes. If you (general, not you personally) don't like it, just don't buy the product. I guess I'm not seeing what the issue is. At all.
did it occur to you that this same advice should go the TG lobby who had a problem with the 'venus' sign on the package in the first place?
Because it is a bigger issue than one company. These things tend to expand into bigger things. And we have every right to discuss them on a politics board.
Of course you do. You can discuss anything you want on the politics board as long as the mods don't care. I was responding to the poster who said, "do you think it's nonpolitical?" by saying that it doesn't really matter whether it's political or not.
Yes, things do tend to expand. Inclusivity is here to stay, at least for the time being. You do have the right to switch brands (though I'm not sure that any other brands have female symbols on their wrappers... if that sort of thing is very important to you, you might have to start your own line of hygiene products).

Absolutely! If they complained and the company didn't make the change, then of course they should spend their dollars elsewhere! That is how this whole thing works. Anybody can complain about anything, private companies can change or not change their practices, and people can choose to spend their money however they want. You not liking what the company decided is perfectly fine. If you have a working uterus and need menstrual products, then you might consider switching brands to show your displeasure with your spending power. I fully support that.
i had no idea that starting a thread indicated that one was 'triggered' by the topic in question. how did you come to this brilliant conclusion?
Have you considered contacting the corporation in question? Perhaps they can help alleviate some of your frustration if you speak to them directly. Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

And then what?
I am actually concerned what could happen if this type of thing continues and grows, the catering to a tiny minority that many think are not mentally well. It is all part of a bigger cultural issue, much more significant then mere "inclusivity" and marketing. So maybe you still think it is about a brand of pads but it is much more than that. A strong backlash would be unfortunate but sometimes cultures swing hard when things get too clownish.

This is the issue.
But so many are enamored with their own perceived characteristic of 'tolerance' that they cannot see the forest for the trees.
They do not understand what is happening. If you attempt to explain? They REFUSE to hear it. because tolerance and inclusivity and being cool and hip and trendy and tolerant are all that matter.
Truth? Not so much.
Women are women, and men are men. And that is a truth.
I hope you find a resolution to this dilemma, contact the corporation directly and explain your concerns, no reason you both won’t come away understanding each other better. Good luck!
