OK - it's not really shocking. They have never changed how they operate even though they support the end of the world climate scenarios that are out there.

Study Finds the Wealthy & Celebrities Aren’t Changing Their Flying Habits to Reduce CO2 Emissions

The study, carried out by researchers from from Lund University, reviewed the social media accounts of well known celebrities and wealthy philanthropists, many of who relentlessly virtue signal about climate change.

Based on the information posted relating to travel, researchers calculated the starting point and destination for flights and then worked out likely CO2 emissions.

Climate activist Bill Gates was responsible for approximately 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide, while flights used by Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez emitted 1,260 tonnes and 1,050 tonnes respectively.

These figures compare to a global average of 100 kilos per person per year for air travel, or in other words more than a thousand times higher.

Meanwhile I am supposed to take public transportation to work to save the planet. I don't think so.

Have you ever looked closely at a charity that you give money to? Many of them pay their CEOs huge salaries, $500k is not uncommon for a charity that pulls in $200M a year. Larger charities like United Way may pay their CEO over a million. It is shocking and I wondered why these CEOs are asking for so much money.

But here is the rub - those big charity CEOs are responsible for a huge fraction of those contribution because they know a lot of rich people they talk into donating. So you pay a CEO $500k but he uses connections to pull in $100M in donations. So it is worth it in the long run.

Same thing is true for Bill Gates and Gore. If they burn 1000 gallons of jet fuel but manage to talk an industry or a group into saving a million gallons of gas, it is worth it.

I don't think you want to use the United Way as an example.

No, you have to take public transportation or walk, to make up for the indulgent habits of the super-rich. You brought it to our attention and now it's up to you to follow-through.

Ground transportation contributes far more than air travel....

Air travel currently accounts for 11% of CO2 emissions from U.S. transportation sources. Ground transportation accounts for 89%.
