I don't think it is a conservative vs liberal thing. I think extremists on either side are very eager to accept any story that validates their preconceived beliefs. Liberals are more likely to have higher education that conservatives, and thus may be better at spotting unreliable sources of information. But it doesn't make them immune to conspiracy theories.
"College-educated Republicans are actually more likely than less-educated Republicans to have believed that Barack Obama was a Muslim and that “death panels” were part of the ACA."
Obama was partly raised and educated in Indonesia, a Muslim country. Obama father was born a Muslim. Obama's stepfather was from Indonesia, raised a Muslim. But neither man was religious as an adult. Obama's father is described as an atheist, while his stepfather drank alcohol, forbidden in Islam. Obama's American mother, Ann Dunham, rejected organized religion. Obama has summed up his own faith history by saying he didn't grow up in any particular religious tradition.
Death Panels, people we do not know and without medical backgrounds making life decisions for us. We understand it's not our family or us making the decision and do not support that. Does that make it death panels, no but we don't have control over our own lives and treatment.
We educate ourselves and understand the background. We also understand that big gov't does not care about us individually, and with too much power over our lives we can not choose. See how Democrats strip it down and twist it? By Conservatives stating the facts Democrats jump to conclusions, manipulate and then put out propaganda.
You have not provided a single example of Slate being unreliable. That article is extremely well sourced, you just don't like the conclusions drawn from it. It's an opinion piece, get over it -- just like we have to get over the constant drone of bias from your Fox News heroes. But again, Slate is highly regarded for factual information and you've yet to give any examples to the contrary.
Because cons are anti education. When you’re anti education, you are susceptible to brainwashing. They don’t have to be that way, they choose it. They bring it upon themselves & I feel zero pity for them.
Why would you think that? I'm Canadian, and we do not live and breathe politics....I'm independent and have voted right, left and center depending on the parties performance and platform....We don't have the tribalism that is prevalent in the US, nor do we worship or leaders as you folks seem to.
My mistake. Love Canada and you happen to live in one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.
Your parliamentary government changes with the wind. Don't you have national elections every few months?
Tell us how free you are. How many centerfire pistols in your household.? Who rules who?
