Assuming that the Dems don’t cherry pick what they release and take things out of context. Knowing the way they operate, there’s no way the “inquiry” is honest and on the up and up.

Note:
Quote:
Forty-seven Republican lawmakers from three House committees — Intelligence, Foreign Affairs and Oversight — have been allowed to attend and participate in all of the depositions of the eight diplomats and government officials brought in to testify so far. The 57 Democrats from those three committees also may attend, but no other lawmakers from either party may enter. No one other than these members can attend, so it is not all members of each committee, but a select roster.

Some of the president’s strongest allies, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), have been in the room for nearly every minute of the depositions, according to GOP aides. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and a Trump ally, is there nearly as often. The trio have asked the majority of the questions on behalf of Republican members, Rouda said.
Gaetz who led the charge on this is NOT one of those who are allowed in. He seems to think that *all* Republicans should be allowed in, but how would this work? Committees are not the entire house and the work of the committees cannot proceed with every single member in each meeting.

So you are saying the impeachment inquiries of Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon did not follow standard procedure?

The Republicans will get their chance when the Senate conducts the trial. This is the grand jury not the trial.

Sorry, but this is just dumb. The two situations are completely different. Apples and oranges. They are not interrogating suspects, they are interrogating potential witnesses. And they are doing it behind closed doors so that the public only gets part of the story.

It’s fine though. I wont complain about it anymore. I am fine with the Dems in the house doing as they see fit, and when the Republicans in the senate do as they see fit, I’m sure you guys wont complain about the process either.

Agree with or disagree with impeachment, this process is not being conducted in a manner that is appealing to the public. This is going to backfire big league on the Dems.

There is no way in hell the Senate would convict Trump.

Clinton was overwhelmingly acquitted when it was obvious to Forrest Gump he was guilty as sin.

Think the Right is going to forget that now?

Dems are dragging a BS impeachment into an election year now, they just keep imploding worse and worse. This won't help them next year.

Some of the subject matter may include sensitive items regarding arms sales to a country in a low-level war with Russia. Some of the communications being discussed may be classified. Use of the SCIF may be entirely justified. We should not assume that the reason is political.

Not that I have any sympathy for Trump. I hope he's found guilty of treason and then the sentence is carried out in the most unpleasant manner possible.

But we're coming up on an election. It'd be hetter for the country if Trump was defeated fair and square at the ballot box. That would be a better solution for everybody even if Trump walks free.

It's pretty entertaining to watch though
Honestly, I didn't want them go there either. Pelosi held it off as long as she could though. Over half the country now wants these impeachment inquiries. I think that number is just going to grow.

The Dems are taking a situation they could really do well with and screwing the pooch hugely with the way they're handling this.
