There were multiple psychological factors working against her: she's female (misogyny), she's short (voters prefer tall candidates), she's not likeable, and she ran a mediocre campaign. Despite that, she still won the popular vote. The ads may have had some marginal effect in a few key states, but that's only because it was a close election.

Both were considered two of the most unpopular candidates ever to run. That hasn't changed. Hillary was at least competent and experienced in working the wheels in Washington. Either one was likely to remain unpopular.
Trump was easily one of the most popular candidates to run for president. His massive rallies back that up. To equate Trump to Nurse Ratched is hilarious.
