I don't get why we ever even allowed on-line sales of bullets. That's completely insane. Do you have to undergo a background check? Can a kid or a felon go on line and get it? If you can do it, the answer to that question is doubtless 'yes.'
Not to mention it's even worse that you can get short barrel ammunitions on line.
You don't even know what "short barrel ammunition" means.
I can't say I'm normally a fan of Walmart. I'm pro-union, Walmart believes in union-busting. I don't like the proliferation of made-in-China stuff produced at least partly with slave labor. That's virtually Walmart's entire business model. I don't like HFCS. Walmart has shelves full of snacks and drinks loaded with HFCS.
I can say that I am a big fan of their recent decision to stop selling short barrel ammunitions:
I wish they would have simply destroyed existing stock, but I understand that they have shareholders to answer to. What do you think?
Ammo bans would only have an effect if you were able to ban ALL ammo nationwide.
Which is the exact goal of duplicitous paranoids like the OP, who try to pretend they only want to ban SOME ammo. Nothing else will do.

Not sure why you think this is so crazy, ammo has been available online for many years now.
Even when you buy ammo at a store, they dont do a background check or ask for ID, its cash and carry.
I'm not answering your poll because you didn't include: "Businesses can make their own decisions, but I will not encourage or discourage their decision".
They can make their own choices - and lose the money in the process. Whatever.
Nonetheless, I'm more apt to believe this:

Most likely it wasn't making them much money anyway, so why not use a simple business decision to try to grab attention?
Because, as another poster said, who the hell buys ammunition at Wally World?
I don't know anything about ammunition one way or the other. But in general I don't see why a store like Walmart, which is basically rather like a department store, should be carrying anything gun-related at all, except maybe water pistols.
