some of the thinnest and the easiest to crush propaganda facing us today revolves around the Postal Service VS it's big private CORPORATE RIVALS

notice how all the propaganda videos (who are funded by the big corporations) are well produced, slick, narrated and acted whereas the anti privatization videos are grainy Grassroots and inherently under funded

notice a key date in all these propaganda videos of 2006 as they never mentioned the US Postal Services financials prior to 2006

this is a critical date in the propaganda scenario as that is the year in which the US Postal Service was sabotaged

today's laws allow corporations to give unlimited money to the LAWMAKERS and that creates a scenario in which the corporations have a disproportionate influence on our laws

why do corporations want to get rid of the government...?

because the government is the one that regulates them... the democratically-elected government is supposed to be the one that controls the corporations operations

if you're a corporation and you save a lot of money by dumping chemicals into the local river you don't want the government telling you you can't take this shortcut

Not only does the government regulate corporations they do the critical job of Public Services

once the government is no longer relevant the corporations will have control over the tax coffers and this double whammy is their primary corporate goal

in funding these propaganda videos they are trying to convince you that the government is a monopoly and not good at business

If you believe that you are going to be willing to hand Public Services over to for-profit corporations who now control the spending of your tax dollars without respect for the democratic vote...

What are you, a socialist? Corporations should be able to do anything they want.

Why do you hate freedom?

We've been over this before, Karl.

Don't you have babies to drone strike or Jews to gas somewhere instead of spreading this propaganda, comrade?

Corporations are legal fictions created by the fiction known as government (the State).

They are one in the same. Squint your eyes and bury your cognitive dissonance enough...sure...you can fool yourself but you ain't foolin' real capitalists.

Also to note, the last time a real capitalist (anarchist) went toe-to-toe with Sammy's gangster post office was Lysander Spooner. They shut him down after initially losing in the courts (a rare victory for capitalism) and then made it illegal to compete with them under the guise of the monopolization we still know and enjoy today. For good measure armed State agents arrested and caged a man named Calvin Case who worked for Spooner's enterprise.

OP would have volunteered to stand guard over Case if he was around in the 1840's. The audacity of delivering letters under Sammy's quota.

But there was one interesting impact during Spooner's short-lived American Letter Mail Company - Sammy was forced to lower its prices.

Imagine that? Competition lowering prices. Hmm...

No worries, the savings were temporary and the high prices that were the impetus to Spooner's endeavor soon returned after they shut him down.

All's well that ends well, eh OP?

If you haven't heard any of this before it's because they won't teach this in the public indoctrination centers.

Thank you for that informative post. It's amazing how many people keep repeating the zombie lie "Let the market decide", the "market" is tilted towards price gouging, and those least able to afford it are some of the biggest proponents.

If you watched the World Series on Friday, you saw two commercials that seemed legit but were actually propaganda. These might air again tonight. "Doctor Patient Unity" is the group that put out this propaganda.

Corporation Definition:

A legal entity, created under the authority of a statute, which permits a group of people, as shareholders, to apply to the government for an independent organization to be created, which then pursues set objectives, and is empowered with legal rights usually only reserved for individuals, such as to sue and be sued, own property, hire employees or loan and borrow money.

They get out the chains, oil them up, put them on their person, and then complain to the true capitalists (anarchists) that they've been enslaved.

You've enslaved yourself, folks.

Well if you think beyond the word gouging as politicians use it, you'll see that a rising price in reaction to a limited supply leads to conservation.
For instance; in times of a natural disaster, if bottled water prices were kept the same or even lowered by govt decree, drinking water would be hoarded and thus fewer people would have access to water. Making the water artificially cheap also removes the incentive for the retailer to re-supply, like they would if there were greater profit in it.

This is supply and demand 101 which I guess isnt covered in the 15,000 hours of govt education that everyone attends.

So as this relates to medical care; prices are high because the govt limits the supply of doctors, nurses, medical training facilities, treatment facilities, medications, etc.. The way this is accomplished is through legislation, licensure, certificate of need, incentivizing demand a.k.a. medicare/medicaid, regulatory burden, etc.
Same reaction to limited supply as the water scenario, but instead of the market rushing to increase supply to meet the demand, its kept from doing so by the state which is now purposefully limiting limit (creating its own disaster of sorts). In this case the its politicians doing the gouging and its not serving anyones interests except inflating the prices for the doctor cartel, nurse cartel, hospital cartel, pharmacuetical cartel and insurance cartel. Its a big club and you and I ain't in it.

Free the market, competition will be greater, services will improve, prices will fall, more people will have access, and there wont be a need for a third party unless you want some sort of catastrophic coverage policy.

And my backyard.

Those damn government regulations. But the perps always get off. Like the dry cleaners who don't want to pay for the correct disposal of dry cleaning fluid. They just dump it into the ground. I lost count of the number toxic waste sites waiting correction in my state 100s, maybe thousands.. The dry cleaning fluid is in almost all the well water in my county. And the citizens pay to clean it up, the owner of the dry cleaner spends his summers in France.

The USPS has been operating under some rules that do not confine business. They want to prove the USPS is
a massive failure so they can privatize it.

IDK how paying stockholders, directors and management will make it more efficient.
