I thought this was a fascinating interview. Bannon is a very insightful guy.
I love how he points out how Fox News trying to "knee-cap" Trump by digging through his old social media and how he and Breitbart hit back against Megan Kelly by doing piece after piece on her. Ailes called him up and told him to stop it - she was "crying" and getting threats and all that. Then he retorts "well maybe she has a personal problem?". So awesome.
I will note that early on in this interview, Bannon talks in support of a tax of 44% on all wealth over $5 million (low estimate of Bannon's net worth is $10 million). He also says - twice - that he would prefer left-wing populists to be in charge rather than wealthy global elitists of either party.
At one point in the interview, Bannon calls Trump "an imperfect instrument". I think it's worse than that - Trump has been a disastrous instrument. Because it hasn't been the case that populists were using Trump - it has been the case that Trump has used populists to get himself into a position where he can cut deals globally that enrich himself. Obviously, Bannon thinks that isn't all that important. For all Bannon's talk about protecting the interests of ordinary citizens, regardless of their race, religion or color, the president Bannon still supports has strengthened the power of the wealthy, emboldened racists to attack their fellow Americans, and encouraged ordinary Americans to defend the likes of Putin, Kim Jongun, and anti-Islamist-journalist-murdering Mohammed bin Salman.

Disastrous in what way? Just because he's not politically correct - because he has no filter? The results speak for themselves. And they're generally good results.
Also, the guys has Jews all over in his family so this "he's a racist" nonsense is just fake news.

Bannon is an interesting guy. He was left-wing in college and actually kind of a hippie who lived in a house with no electricity (much like Bernie). After college he joined the Navy, and became disgusted with Jimmy Carter's leadership as president. That was his right turn.
After the Navy he got an MBA, ended up at Goldman, and made a crap load of money negotiating entertainment industry deals. He is really well read; his brother said that his houses are not houses--they're libraries.
Bannon is as swampy as any of them. Kept a house in Miami in order to register to vote here, but didn't live here. It was to avoid those nasty taxes he would owe on his millions if he was honest about his residence.
He is somewhat insightful though. Trump is not 'winning.'
"...Steve Bannon, a former White House chief strategist and longtime ally of President Trump, said in a radio interview broadcast Sunday that Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) impeachment strategy is “winning....”
PBS Frontline Steve Bannon interview, behind the scenes at the White House
A surprisingly unbiased, thoughtful interview divided between two different interviewers on two different days. Is that because Bannon talks so much he wore them out?
People who hate Bannon have never actually listened to a long interview with him. He hates both major parties, the elites and the permanent political class. He is a populist who is for the working man.
A lot of information about Sessions, Stephen Miller, Gen. Kelly, and other Repub players that you've never heard before. What he thinks of Obama (might surprise you). Bannon's fight with Fox's Roger Ailes because Breitbart's negative coverage made Megyn Kelly cry! Find out why Trump is always in the news all the time (Bannon's idea).
Just remembered Bannon said Breitbart was the news organization that broke the story about Obama's kids in cages at the border. Then the rest of the media picked up the story. Funny how years later the media all have amnesia!
