I don't understand the reason why he thinks he would lose supporters. I didn't vote for Trump because he is or isn't a billionaire. That doesn't interest me. I voted for him because I agree with him on issues and because the establishment told me not to vote for him. I don't think of him as a scumbag. I like his personality.

While there are those who will believe whatever lies Trump and Russian trolls peddle, others may not be so gullible.
If his financial records reveal that he's not the multi-billionaire he claims to be, but rather heads an organization that owns a number of heavily-mortgaged, high-overhead, money-losing properties that are little more than money laundering operations, well those who admire him because he is a billionaire businessman may realize they were played for fools.
Just like those who believe he pulled our men/women out of harms way are being played for fools.
