Leaked Audio Reveals How Coca-Cola Undermines Plastic Recycling Efforts
Audio from a meeting of recycling leaders obtained by The Intercept reveals how the soda giant’s “green” philanthropy helped squelch what could have been an important tool in fighting the plastic crisis — and shines a light on the behind-the-scenes tactics beverage and plastics companies have quietly used for decades to evade responsibility for their waste. The meeting of the coalition group known as Atlanta Recycles took place in January at the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials in Atlanta’s south side.
and the audio included not a single word from a Coke rep.
I hope you answered the Intercept's plea for a donation though.
And they should have every right to attempt to do so, legally.
They are coming because they know our laws right now allow suffering people to apply for asylum.
I would like to see cons mount a concerted effort to do away with the legal right of asylum if they disagree with that, then we can have a national conversion about those laws.
But that is why they are coming. Treating them like vermin is completely a violation of their human rights. We are offering them a chance for refuge with our current laws.
when you're coming for economic reasons, that's not asylum. That's applying for immigration.
I dare you to say the same thing to state-to-state transplants!
That's an entirely different thing for God's sake! The states are within the same country and Americans aren't moving to different states as refugees or asylum seekers. Geezus!

Correct, which results in most application getting dismissed and most people refused entry.
But since we can't verify virtually any story some poor Guatemalan tells us, some manage to convince us that their situation is actually dire enough that it passes muster with our laws. And believe me that many of them are. The persecution and death in Guatemala is insane, and many of these people are actually in physical danger which can quality you for asylum under our laws. So some are admitted, and people are willing to risk their lives just to have a chance at being part of that few, things are that bad where they are (both their economics and safety).

Well, since most of them refused asylum in Mexico I'm skeptical. There are safe places in Mexico and they were also offered jobs.
What makes the Latinos so special just because they can walk here? I'm sure there are billions of people with the same "want" without the means.
Your response made no sense based on what I wrote, so I'm not sure why you quoted me. The poorest Guatemalans have not left Guatemala. They are stuck there. It's not free to walk across a continent.
