Impeachment would be political suicide for sure for the current republicans, they have already bled off most of their independent/moderate support, the only ones left are the hardliners and their bases would crucify them.
Well look at the Democrats, no such thing as a moderate Democrat anymore.
That being said, if you look at our president, his policies and accomplishments don't exactly fit in the hard left agenda. Seems the biggest crime President Trump has committed is not being politically correct, saying things many of us think but are afraid to say. When folks throw rocks, he picks them up and throws them back.
Major logic fail here. Trump has exhibited flagrant disdain for law and authority, unlike any other President in modern history. If a Dem tries the same thing (or any Republican), they will be thrown out in much shorter time frame. Not sure how Trump has held on this long.

And YOUR expertise in presidential history and law is....? Major logic fail here!
Because we wouldn't rather have Pence, we want Trump. If you can give reasons why I shouldn't, not vague accusations of breaking every law ever made or something but FACT that is so factual he's been charged with a crime and found guilty, high crimes and misdemeanor stuff, then knock yourself out. But we all know there's nothing like that.

Often, when companies advertise for new employees, they include statements that they do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin and other things. Putting those statements on their advertisements are part of the requirements the courts have imposed.
So what the Republicans practice and what their biggest appeal is to those who want their policies to become the law of the land, are right down the line, the same things as are listed on those non-discrimination statements. And just like those companies that were called to account for their discrimination, they deny all of it vehemently. If the President can be a racist and get away with it, they feel empowered to do the same.
Trump has given them what their dark side has always desired. He realized that if he played up to the worst wishes of those who would follow him, he could seize control. It's ironic that when the framers of the constitution added the provisions for the Electoral College to it, they expressly stated that it was for preventing some unsuitable person like Trump from becoming president. Of course, they had no idea of how everything they planned, would be turned upside-down in 2016. They're probably turning over in their graves.
The Four Freedoms that FDR presented to the nation in 1941, are listed below.
1. Freedom of speech
2. Freedom of worship
3. Freedom from want
4. Freedom from fear
The republican version, after their hijacking by Trump, adds one more: The freedom to hate whoever you please.

Is Pence even an option? He was clearly involved with the Flynn fiasco and was involved in pressuring the President of Ukraine. He does his best with the "Who me?" routine, but merely repeating, "I know nothing, nothing," does not get him off the hook.
Last time around, Republicans scooted Agnew out and slipped in the truly clueless Ford to pardon Nixon.
Not sure that trick will work this time around for Republicans.
