Once again farmers don’t pay for themselves. An ear of corn must be about $7.00 in real prices. Then there’s the farm subsidies too.

A community in my zip code trends a minimum of 5 acres.

Massive McMansions sit on these properties more often than not.

Some receive farms subsidies even though the only thing grown is a pot of pansies.

Having said the the majority of subsidy goes to Big Agriculture, not small independent farms.

I am not one bit surprised. Farmers voting themselves billions of dollars in handouts.

I don't know any details there. But some productive sectors might require central supports here and there and from time to time for reasons of national security. Defense, energies, agriculture to name a few.

I would also say healthcare, a different kind of national security.

They already get $20 in farm subsidies. This is ridiculous.
