There is only one New York City - the financial headquarters of the world. I wish Trump didn't leave it.

But that is his personal business. Plus, he spent an entire lifetime there and deserves a break, I guess.

It makes perfect sense that he'd **** off to fl. That's where most of his like minded folks live. Duh. Unless they are folks living on tax funded farms, anxiously awaiting to move to the sunshine state because the jobs trump promised aren't coming to pass.

What a joke.

I think that Trump is an American citizen, who is entitled to move where he wants, and take advantage of any tax advantages that are in effect, just like anybody else.

He will probably be at least semi retired after he’s through being President, so he will only be doing what thousands of others his age do. As someone else said, the NY based businesses will most likely still be operating there.

He shouldn't expect that the harassment from NY will stop, however. Based on the stories I’ve heard from others, they continue to harass former residents with annual audits. Rush Limbaugh tells of his experiences. He has lived in Florida for years, and refuses to earn a dime in NY, yet he still gets audited by NY every year.

I dont care what anyone’s political position is, what’s wrong is wrong.

Who is we?
Whenever I'm down in Florida I always see more Trump stickers and MAGA hats than anywhere else in the country. (I visit the Tampa Bay & Naples areas often)

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. When the law was closing in on Dennis Kozlowski, he dumped all his money into a Florida mansion because it is protected in bankruptcy.

In fact, Florida is full of wealthy corrupt white-collar criminals who fled here for asset protection. Trump is doing what the rest of them do, and running from NY prosecutors.

They use their homestead protected mansions as offshore banks. Trump is simply joining a long line of corrupt people. But to keep that homestead protection, you have to actually live in Florida for 183 days of year. There is even an anonymous line to report fake homesteaders taking advantage of the law.

About ten years ago, multi billionaire Tom Golisano, the founder of Paychex, changed his domicile from New York to Florida and saved over $13,000 per DAY in state income taxes. He vowed to donate that difference to charity, and possibly a political action committee as well.

... in this case perhaps to put some distance between himself and the prosecutors in the famously independent SDNY and also New York State. How Michael Cohen's home and offices were simultaneously raided really upset him.

Once he is out of office he will be raked over the coals for his past criminality, some of which he can not be pardoned for. He doesn't want to go like Epstein.

There are direct flights between Miami International to Sheremetyevo Airport daily.

But he does still own some of them and, according to the analysis Forbes did, they represent quite a bit of his net worth (just pointing this out....I'm not a Trump voter)
