Yep. I don't want pit bulls anywhere near me.

The firearm analogy never carries any weight because an inanimate object does not hurt anyone unless used improperly.
A living breathing animal that is mobile can get loose and harm someone on it's own.

I'm sorry that happened to your grandson. This is one reason I don't do pit bulls. I don't care for dogs in general, but some breeds scare me more than others. I can deal with a husky or a malamute. A pit bull, never ,never, never. They are scary and have an inherent aggressive streak. I've been chased by a pit bull. You have to have a particular temperament to deal with a pit bull.

Over 900 U.S. cities have laws on these type of dogs.

Please don't let the pitbull turn you against other breeds. On page 1 of the thread, I put on pictures of my corgis and big white dog. Mystery breed. They are the most gentle and loving dogs you will ever meet.

Personally, I'd like nothing more than for breeds like the pitbull and rottweiler to go extinct.

The pit bull can turn in a minute.. some breeds do . I don't like dobermans either. A neighbor always walked his doberman and one day the dog turned on him on the street . Certain breeds can be very dangerous.

Another reason for conceal carry. I know a guy that saved a bunch of kids at a park when some white trash idiots dog got away from him.

Thank. You.

I have never feared anyone who has a firearm on them. In some cases I see the firearm and think "can I shoot that thing?". Never feared a gun user. I've feared pit bulls. A gun in the right hands is of no fear with me. A pit bull is inherently aggressive, and when loose, who knows what's next. A gun in the hands of competent, law-abiding human being, no problem. Any kind of weapon in the hands of a criminal, big problem. A pit bull on its own, inherently dangerous.

Labs don't scare me, neither do malamutes or huskies.

I too would like to see breeds like the pit bull and the rottweiler to go extinct. Dobermans too. Those breeds are meant for violence.

So happy that I live in Denver where you cannot have a pit bull.
