Did states legalize marijuana too soon? Was more research needed first?

I wonder if countries long known for marijuana are seeing this CHS sickness? Like Jamaica and the Netherlands?

This is info from outside the U.S.

I'd like to know where all this "drugged air" is. I live in San Francisco, where cannabis is totally legal, and I have only rarely caught a whiff here and there - and it's ever enough to get me high. Besides, smoking it is so 20th Century. Nowadays there are edibles, drinks and vapes, which bother no one because there's no smoke and no odor.

That said, some people are allergic to cannabis, and there is a disorder called cannabis hyperemesis syndrome that causes vomiting. It is unusual though. Most cannabis-related ER visits are caused by people ingesting too much and becoming paranoid. An overdose won't kill you, but it is unpleasant.

That statement is wholly uninformed.

As a libertarian I still say it is mostly a waste of time trying to have a prohibition, and ultimately counter-productive. Law enforcement should not be wasting time, money and energy trying to regulate what others do to themselves. If this sickness is real, then educate the masses, and let them decide.

Manufactured marijuana, from countries other than where it grows naturally, is much stronger than it ever was before legalization. It is also twice as expensive.

The Netherlands has a sickness in Amsterdam - it is a city in decay. Remember the olden days when Afghanistan men were squatting on their haunches outside their huts while their women prepared meals over coals, three teeth in their head, smoking a reefer, and too stupid to feed themselves? What they were smoking was not legal in developed countries for good reasons, and especially when there is no social culture in place to moderate use.

It's a waste of time if the government charges twice the street cost. The justification for legalizing post is to take the industry out of the hands of criminals, but if the government can't undercut the criminals, the criminals will prevail.

Regarding pot-induced stupor, is it not enough to look at photos from the 1970s of pot smoking communities?

I think all drugs should be legalized. If people want to kill themselves by being irresponsible, so be it. Why should we waste tax dollars trying to stop people that don't care about themselves? Why should Government be able to tell us what we can put into our bodies?
