I'm not sure if this will be big news on here, but this event will reignite the debate on metoo era that we are currently in. Now I don't support sexual harassment of women on the job or off the job, and I do feel that women should feel empowered to report such claims. However with the current climate we are on and changes on job politics with positions like human resources and diversity officers. One accusation, claim or discovery can render a man's position at work to a termination.

The metoo movement changed the work landscape when it comes to sex and meeting the opposite mate. Prior to the metoo era, men and women often met their potential spouses at work, or work relationship fellow colleague , or via vendor, client guest, or even customer. Now with metoo any relationship that is concenusal can cause a direct firing. I also feel sorry for women as well in the metoo era. You often find your husbands at college and or at work. Thanks to metoo, good bye finding a potential mate or suttor in such environments.

Classic word of the day is. Don't sh** where you eat, and the McDonald's CEO sh** where he ate.

Is there a news story somewhere on this? Or is this just a discussion?

I think the "news" is the stark difference between this guy, and Katie Hill. The CEO took full responsibility, admitted he was wrong and indicated the McD's Board made the right decision for firing him. Katie Hill committed much worse ethics and RULES violations yet blamed everyone but herself including the right wing media" which is a JOKE. She took no responsibility nor accountability which is typical of Democrats.

It was all over the news on social media, TV, etc.

It is having a huge impact on McDonald stock.

The CEO says he broke policy and accepts the decision.

I guess investors are concerned about the instability with a changing of the guard.

*shrug* standard practice anymore.

You have sex with subordinates, you get canned.

Probably the most interesting thing about this story is that when people make 200million in a year making movies or dunking basketballs they somehow earned it, but if a CEO makes 20mil they have a brain aneurysm over how horrible it is.

But notice how their presence and decisions can impact billions of dollars of investments either positively or negatively. (McD's market cap is 147billion)

These are temporary, emotionally driven dips. If it drops enough, buy. Get back to me in a few days or a week.

McDonalds issued a statement that they had to sack CEO Mr Easterbrook after they caught him putting his knob in the pickle slicer.

As for the pickle slicer, McDonalds later confirmed they had sacked her as well.

The movie stars and basketball dunkers do indeed earn their money. They`re not stealing it. There are thousands of CEOs but very few people have the skills to play in the NBA. Is the head of Comcast really worth 30 million a year? When these people screw up and get fired it`s not unusual for them to leave with tens of millions.

Yes, unless the market views their replacement as better\worse and more importantly how they lead the company which won't show up for a while.

Just look at GE, they continue to sink under the weight of bad decisions made over 10-20 years ago that they hid with fancy accounting.
