The only President to grant Amnesty was Reagan a Republican.
Now I know what they mean by low information voters !

Nope. My mother came to this country very conservative, as do many people. However the rhetoric spewed by many Republicans toward minorities turned her off from them. But even more, her religious beliefs changed so she is a major supporter of separation of church and state, which the Republican Party is not.

And she is not for open borders.

The problem with Republicans is that they try to make other voters out to be a simple-minded as they are with comments like those in your posts. They will never attract more minorities that way.

And he lived to regret it because of the lies of the Democrats to secure the border! We were also told that would be the last amnesty.

Really? Have you taken a look at some of the Democratic front runners for President? Last I checked, the top three contenders are two old white man and an old white woman.

Dems running candidates in their 70's for President and they're predicting the demise of Republicans for being out of touch?

It's hard to get minority GOP because they are indoctrinated by schools, family, media, and their own self-serving mentors... Eventually they get some critical thinking before they become Republicans... Problem is the Democrats want to dumb down their education so they won't get there...and peer pressure them with their own community against them...

If the policies of the republican party appeal to a voter, s/he will vote for republicans.

if the policies of republicans make voters' lives better, they will vote for republican candidates.

there is no need to pander to voters based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, and skin color. if the republican policies appeal, voters will support them.

I do think republican party needs to do a better job recruiting qualified minorities and women as candidates for political offices. republican party leaders and office holders are not representative of the demographics of America.

Will Hurd represents one of (if not the largest) Congressional Districts in the USA. It’s also one of the poorest with more USMexico Border than any other District. 63+% Hispanic. I think that Hurd is the ONLY non-Hispanic CongressCritter they have ever elected - and he is Black. It’s normally a flip-flop District, but Hurd appears to do a good job for his Constituents, which the other Reps never did. That causes him a lot of grief with the GOP as he tries to be responsive to those who elected him. I’m very familiar with this area of Texas and travel through it mane 3-4 times a year.

I’ve always thought it is beyond stupid to never have CongressCritters from the Border on the Committees that deal with Immigration and Border Security. Those that live there and Represent the Border Districts know it best.

Hurd is wrong about Texas - I’ve been voting in Texas since LBJ was President and Texas has always been Purple ... never made any difference as to which party held the most seats or State officials, the Voters attempt to keep a balance and do what is best for the entire State.

Our Legislators are allowed 140 days every other year to do the People’s business - if they can’t or won’t do the job, then we “Throw the Bum out and elect a new Bum”. We have 10 year Sunset Laws for every program in the State - they have to prove the program is working and worth the Money. All in all ... it’s pretty well run. Socialist Ideology is never going to fly in Texas.
