Culture matters though and we aren't doing a good job of integrating "immigrants" into mainstream America. In fact retaining one's culture and language out in mainstream is being encouraged not discouraged. If you dare object you get called racist by the liberal left.
I will agree to that but it’s not political. When the majority hates you - thinks you are a thief or a criminal and looking for hand outs - you huddle where it’s safe. The same happened with the every group that showed up in the USA. Italians- blacks- Asians - Irish - Cubans etc. The blacks were forced to live in a corner, well the same thing happens with this prejudice of people who are different. They huddle and they grow. FYI one reason we have a huge gang membership. The disenfranchised. We cause that.

No. Why in the world would they come here? They see the U.S. as backsliding toward 2nd world status. It's only attractive to 3rd world citizens. Why would they want to join in our expensive insane healthcare system, crappy work benefits, low pay, high education costs, or gun violence?

One thing surprised was we are getting more immigration from the Caribbean than we are Mexico....is the Great Wall of Trump misplaced?
We both live/work outside the US. Thus we both know that the true reality of the world is not in line with the perceived reality within the US. The US is reactionary to facts, not truth.
It is and it’s facts. Don’t they complain about little Havana in Miami ? In NY every one had their piece of the old country. China town ? You ever get out?
We used to have White immigration from Europe and White people from here hated them too. White Americans had all kinds of cute names for Italians, Irish, Jews, ect.
The race of the immigrant does not matter in America, we will be the bigot regardless.
