I watched this hour and 20 minute speech earlier today and it was very clear, what Rand Paul was 'inciting' when he demanded the media release his name (he did say he knew who it was), so Im not sure why he didnt announce it right there on stage, Im sure Trump would have been drooling over him if he had!

Some on the other side are saying this was illegal and if any harm came to the whistleblower, trump, paul and even trump supporters could be held responsible.

Just curious what everyone thinks, was this illegal, or not?

We already know who it is. Rand just wants Schiffty to name him.
Whistle Blower protections, just mean they cannot be fired from the government for it. Doesn't say they remain anonymous.

If that whistleblower had been at this rally, the crowd would have torn him limb from limb.

Right lol! If you want that person mangled, burned and killed, put a red hat on him or her during a “peaceful” liberal protest.

Rand Paul stated, there’s no law from him revealing the name of the whistleblower.

If you knew how to type\spell....your post title would have been readable.

If I had known last nights powerball numbers I'd be a millionaire.

Come on...join us in reality, not the land of make believe.

Then if he knew it, why not say it?

The media can release his name and the Media (and you and I) would be protected if we were correct.

Believe the courts ruled on this by the NYT's and the Pentegon papers back in the 70's. The right to free speech and publish and all that jazz.

Anyone outside politics (the Govt) can release the name. Just not inside the Federal Govt from what I understand.

I honestly don't think the name of the whistle blower is important. We are way beyond that in the investigation. Trump is using the same playbook as he did with the Mueller report. Remember the Steele dossier? The Page/Strzok texts. The Mueller investigation was well under way with Trump's inner circle convicted and the playbook was all about look over there way in the past. It's a way to try and slow down the narrative and shift the focus away from what's really going on. Uranium One anyone? Live in the past, not in the present. Is it illegal to out a whistle blower? Easy enough to Google and find out. Had it been advantageous to Trump it would have leaked. Supposedly Hannity knows who it is. Do you honestly think Trump doesn't know the name?
