.....carbonism is a powerfully economic and cultural idea. Think of the carbon in carbonism as akin to the nation in nationalism: It implies a founding myth, a powerful worldview, a theory of value, and a prophecy. But it is, at heart, a simple idea. Carbonism is a belief that fossil fuels—which send carbon pollution spewing into the atmosphere, accelerating climate change and ocean acidification—have inherent virtue......

The author calls it an ideology, but it is rather a religion of the right-wing that believe in the magical powers of carbon.

For Trump, carbonism is visceral. Trump has bound carbon pollution to heavy industry and white men. Abroad, Trump’s carbonism is vulgar. Hence his repeated promise that the United States had “the oil” in Syria, even as it betrayed its Kurdish allies. The deeper logic of carbonism: that carbon pollution imposes no hard limit on human flourishing, that through the exclusive magic of fossil fuels, society can effortlessly solve any problem.

It all makes sense. A majority of Americans know that anthropogenic climate change is affecting the world in adverse ways. it is time to call climate deniers for what they really are: Fanatical Carbonists.

Well, then it’s just an opposing religion to the climate change alarmists who aren’t yet parking their cars for good or giving up electricity.
‘Till then.....

Lol, the effects of climate change are everywhere, but Carbonists like yourself still believe in the magical power of carbon to make things better. It will not.

The effects have been around for thousands of years.

Climate changes NATURALLY., always has. Who is not heating/cooling their home, driving, flying, using electricity, etc? NOBODY, especially the ones crowing that it is all MAN'S FAULT. Hypocrites and liars. This is yet another attempt at Communism draped in false "save the planet": LIES.

You have no idea what my beliefs are. I despise many aspects of modern culture and technology.
Like everyone else, I simply participate in the culture I was born into.
My problem is that people who preach climate change rarely do much to make any meaningful changes themselves.
While I’m skeptical about man made climate change, I personally believe that simply tweaking modern life to be more environmentally friendly is a fairytale. It would take a lot more than that if we are to truly believe that we’re changing the climate.

We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden

All the post from climate deniers so far show they are ardent Carbonists. Carbon is magical. Despite the fact that all this excessive carbon is destroying this planet, it is still a magical compound despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Why do you think carbon is magical?
