The distinctive shape of the US-made Oshkosh armored vehicle stands out in the early morning darkness, a piece of military hardware that is currently at the heart of a standoff between some American lawmakers and President Donald Trump's administration.
Aden is controlled by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, whose main partners are continuing to ship American-made weapons into the country despite bipartisan outrage in Congress over the way the US is backing Riyadh in this bloody and bitter conflict.

Under the UAE and Saudi Arabia's arms sales agreements with the US, American-made MRAPs are considered "proprietary technology," which neither party was supposed to let out of its control.
Recipients of US weaponry are also legally obligated to adhere to end-use requirements which prohibit the transferring of any equipment to third parties without prior authorization from the US government. That authorization was never obtained.
My skeptical side says Congress only denied it because they knew Trump would do it anyway. We have very, very few lawmakers who aren't all for selling as much military gear to as many countries as possible, and who cares which "side" they're on or how bad their human rights are. The two most recent presidential (primaries) candidates, Rand Paul and Gabbard, who favor of non-intervention and actually seem to mean it, never gained any traction. Shame.
Because it displays the unrelenting, unmitigated hypocrisy of all the left wing loony toons
Even when it doesn't? We have been arming Egypt for 40 years, and we did with Obama, and still do with Trump. If you don't like it, then why not write to the White House and ask them to stop. This thread is about the current secret sales to Yemen.
Its a deflection. If you have nothing to say about the topic, then why spam the thread with the BUT OBAMA lines.
Did the Saudis buy that truck? If so, it's up to them what they do with it. Of course MSN isn't noted for going into that level of detail.
If it's bought and paid for by US taxpayers and crewed with US military personnel, we have something to complain about-we shouldn't be wasting American lives and taxpayer dollars to keep ME Muslims from slaughtering each other.

Exactly what law is being broken by the WH ?
From your own link...the next paragraph after your quotes:
A State Department official told CNN that the American government takes all allegations of the misuse of US weaponry very seriously but insisted "there is currently no US prohibition on the use of US-origin MRAPs by Gulf coalition forces in Yemen." A spokesman for the Pentagon, Lt. Col Uriah L. Orland, told CNN "we cannot comment on any potential or ongoing investigations of claims of end-use violations," but also reiterated there was currently no prohibition on the use of US MRAPs in Yemen.

But hey, TDS is alive and well.
It's like complaining that somehow M4s ended up in the hands of insurgents. Once the manufacturer sells it to someone it isn't their fault if it gets resold or gifted.

Because it points out the hypocrisy. The war mongering left didn't care when they did it in Benghazi and the war mongering right doesn't care now. When it comes to foreign policy both sides are the same.
