It's the foundation America is built upon.

I also know several people who turned down raises because they want to stay below a certain wage so they can take advantage of welfare benefits. I asked one why would she turn down $150,000 a year and stay at $30,000, thinking she could buy a house and get out of her apartment, and she's like, what's the point of owning a house? You still have to pay for it and you can't even just pass it off to your kids like she could if she still lived in Mexico, so it's better for her to just get section 8 and EBT cards.

And this makes me wonder, if the democrats won everything in the USA, their plan is to tax the hell out of all successful people to pay for all the losers who voted for them, so really, what's the point of me or anyone else working hard to be successful if the democrats are just going to tax me to hell for it? I'm single and have no kids or dependents except my mother, but she doesn't count, so I sure won't be getting any kind of tax break. And every year, it's getting harder and harder to keep my businesses afloat, and the company I work for is also hurting with all of the regulations and taxes. I'm thinking of just selling off my properties, farm and my interest in a bar, and just go live off the grid. Heck, the company I work for is seriously thinking of moving it to Vietnam.

And I just have to wonder, the countries that have the socialism that the democrats here are striving for, how is their innovation been since they became socialists? Seems to me that in the past, the USA was the place to go to try new things and think outside the box, to reach for the stars, but if we keep taxing the hell out of those dreams, then why even bother trying?
LOL, that was a funny story, tell us another one?

At 1 place I worked we had a LOT of overtime.

1 guy figured out at what point in the year we actually netted LESS working overtime because it put us in a higher tax bracket.

You know a law is really bad when the only way to survive it is to earn LESS money.
And I know multiple people that turned down offers for better jobs at new employers because they couldn't afford to be without insurance coverage of their "pre-existing conditions" for 6 mos. So?

And I also find it funny that these states that are prime Democrat areas, also tend to be the Whitest.
You made a lot of claims. How about something credible to back them up?

So I can't relate to your perception.
That is your problem - you don't realize that there are many of we Democrats that are lower middle class or have a hard time with the change to the Health Care under Obama. Not every Dem makes 6 figures and is happy supporting others. I have a hard enough time supporter ourselves. There are not just Rich Democrats and Poor democrats - most of us are in the middle or lower class so paying for all these programs are hurting us - the middle class that supposedly Democrats are trying to protect.

I know many people that are sick of working hard only to see the gov't - whether local or federal take it away - and I live in a Democratic state whose residents are leaving in droves. So I'm sure there are more just like me.

After making many sacrifices to acquire an education and skills I had a big job making multiple 6 figures a year but I had been working 50 - 60 hours a week for decades and tethered to my job otherwise with cell phone & laptop when I wasn't working. I was paying more in taxes than most people gross and finally decided no more. I was weary of working my tail off vs others who hardly work at all and then listening to the far left Dems screech endlessly that people like me weren't paying our fair share and posing us as being the problem. Rather than continuing to feed an ungrateful monster I quit working with more than enough money to live well for the rest of my life. Society now no longer gets the big pile of taxes I had been paying for years and years, nor does society get the benefit of my hard work and expertise. Atlas Shrugged.

And what's it going to take to back that statement up. Dems always counter with show me the proof.

Fact - NY State is Blue. https://www.democratandchronicle.com...-s/2362167002/ - "New York's population continues to decline faster than any other state, according to new data released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau."

Yearly taxes on a $100,000 home in upstate NY close to $5,000 - with taxes going up each year - retirees are leaving because they can't afford the taxes.

Whitest states in America - https://www.roadsnacks.net/whitest-states-in-america/

There's your proof - now learn to google!

Ah, well...

SOMEbody has to work hard to pay down the debt that those tRump tax breaks give to the ultra wealthy.

The GOP's take on individual success:

IF your job is to lounge around the pool, sipping drinks prepared by the "domestic staff" and waiting for those dividends to arrive, then America just hasn't been good to you and you deserve another tax break.

IF you and your family actually work for a living, then you parasites owe America's wealthy more than you can ever repay. And don't even dare to look into the corporate welfare that pads their bottom lines.

Work a second/third job at low pay to try to keep your head above water.
