WWII is the fault of Democrats. Got it. Tojo and Hitler had nothing to do with it.

It will when the economy turns south. Whoever holds office will be blamed. The fact of the matter is that economies run in cycles. Massive QE can help stave off a recession, but not prevent it.

Nailed it.

Unemployment rates continued to go down. Good job on Trump for not messing up a good thing in respect to that. But the fact remains... unemployment was steadily decreasing during the previous administration and has simply continued that trend.

From the moment the ink was dried on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the market has gone up a paltry 3%. And mostly plateaued since January 2018. And the President has begged the Fed to lower federal rate. I thought a good economy didn't need the federal rate to be cut. The rates are close to the same rate we had when we were in recession. And unlike the promises made prior to the tax cuts, they aren't paying for themselves by a long shot. I'm sure we miss the days of only a 550B yearly deficit. This year we will surpass 1 Trillion in yearly deficit. This comes as pretty much no surprise to 55% of the country.

I think if Trump has showed anything, its that the President doesn't have much to do with the economy as much as we think. He's made a few good moves, but nothing spectacular. His ability to steer the economy is about as strong as rowboat caught in hurricane.

One could make the argument that the economy is propped up by low federal rates and a new deficit spending spurned on by the Trump Tax Cuts. What a mess for the next president to clean up.

Have we reached a point where “It’s the Economy Stupid” no longer applies?

The Leftist are counting on that (and their Coup/Kangaroo Court) for 2020.
The Leftists are banking that Citizens want Socialism more than they want Jobs, Homes, Food and all the stuff that Normal People want.

If they can’t figure out a way to Crash the Economy, they will attempt to convince people it’s just not important.
The operative word in the Thread title is STUPID

Consider this .... they wouldn’t be going down the disastrous (for the Left) Impeachment Road if the Economy didn’t matter. The Economy has always Mattered, and always will Matter.

If you're just judging the economy based on the Dow index you're doing it wrong.

People are spoiled. The economy is doing well and unemployment is low so people are not concerned about it. You better believe that if they vote in socialist Democrats that will run the economy into the ground, then the economy will be the most important priority for the American voters once again.

People now feel entitled to have a good economy, very low unemployment, very low energy prices, great stock and housing markets. They now accept this as "normal" and Democrats and some others give absolutely NO credit to Trump. However, if things were bad he would get ALL THE BLAME.

Part of it is the Media being 98% Democrat supporters and Trump haters.
