Impeachment is what the House does. It's probably going to happen.

Removal/conviction is what the Senate does. It's probably not going to happen.

The Democrats have never gotten over losing an election to someone other than a politician. They never accepted him as President along with his egotistical manner and twitter rantings. The polls all said Hillary would win. They have become so obsessed with trying to show him they run DC they have lost their ability to reason. The investigation upon investigation does nothing but divide the American people, not to mention the media bias, because from day one he made it clear he wasn't fond of them. IMO the impeachment is just another waste of taxpayer $$$. They didn't want the Wall, which included their Dreamers, because most importantly they do not want Trump to have any success and the American people aren't important.

This is what I don't understand about many Democrats in here is that in reality the likelihood of Congress convicting the President is very slim. Mitch has already stated on video that he will kill any chance. Months ago Pelosi already stated that pursuing Impeachment is a low chance of succeeding and Chuck agreed as they didn't think it's worth pursuing with a few members of the house was pushing for it.

That's why I don't understand if some folks here are being serious or sarcastic. Are liberals that out of touch with reality?

They have made the calculation that they will lose to Trump in 2020 if they don't find something actually negative or enough fake stories their media accomplice liars will use to try to win the 2020 election....next up is their hope to destroy the Constitution and our freedoms.

The short answer is: It is not the Dems, it is the House that is pursuing impeachment and the reason is that it is the House's Constitutional responsibility to check a lunatic President. The Senate is not their concern. Trump's crimes need to be brought to the light of day.
This is the answer. Removal from office is not the same as impeachment; impeachment is a process, not an outcome. The primary objective is to bring all the facts, witnesses and testimony to Congress for review. They are doing the job we elected them to do. So that the citizens can be made aware of all the information and events. Removal from office is a secondary outcome.

Exactly the same as it was with Clinton. Now we all know beyond any doubt that he lied to Congress; we are able to move on with that knowledge. It will be the same process and similar outcome for the Trump impeachment.

I think it's fairly obvious...they know they don't really have anything, but if they can just generate enough bad press to drive down his poll numbers, they'll continue this "investigation"...it isn't about what's "right"...it's strictly a politically strategic manuever

Why do you think the founders put impeachment in the Constitution? It was because they were worried that a gullible public would be hoodwinked by a snake oil salesman and an incompetent imbecile would end up in the White House. Impeachment is the designed backdoor to correct that and here we are today, in just the situation the founders were afraid of. So yes, the Dems have been all over Trump since he is anything but presidential material - he demonstrated that within hours of being sworn in by his stupid insistence that his inauguration was the biggest ever. And then shortly after that he horrified the country by publicly siding with Putin against his own government! It all went downhill after that.

Anyone paying attention over the past 3.5 years, knows this whole impeachment thing is only partisan politics by the left. There's not even a whisper of support for it on the right side of the House). "Impeachment" is only the next of many persistent hoaxes perpetuated by the left and the left-leaning media and celebrity bunch to bring down the Presidency at any cost. They could even do it,...IF they could actually get enough non-thinking "sheeple" to accept their radical nonsense enough to actually show-up to vote.

IMO, the left has again far 'over-played its hand,' as they did with the contrived Russian collusion, persistent cries of 'racism', the Kavenaugh spectacle, the viability of open borders and idiotic environmental proposals. Further, the entire slate of 'Dem candidates' is so radical, they are virtually un-electable beyond the West and Northeast coasts.

The impeachment proponents know they can't win this fight in the Senate. Therefore, the strategy seems to be to generate enough 'smoke,' noise and distraction in the left-wing media, that (they believe) even conservative Americans will think there is a 'fire' - and vote for one of their goofy candidates. But, again, they have over played this approach too many times. Honest, tax-paying, middle Americans clearly see their 'power grabbing coup attempt' for what it is.

As with 2016, the actions and lack of a meaningful platform or connection with Americans ('beyond the Coast'), will backfire. In fact, the crazier they get, the more 'right-thinking Americans' will feel compelled to show-up and ensure the 'loons' don't gain any real traction. Hopefully, the House will also swing back to the right (Even though the right wing "politicians" in the 'swamp' haven't shown enough spine or integrity to actually stand-up and support what is right).

Their strategy will fail again in 2020, which will bring on another 4-years of tears, tantrums and obstructive, 'blame game', politics by the left. This could easily become another 8-12-years of GOP government (and at least 2-3 more SC Justices (among others). Of course, the left could wake-up and start looking at themselves and what is best for America, rather than mindlessly "attack Trump" 24/7 ... but, that seems pretty unlikely.

"No, this is about respecting our Constitution"
