You don't get thru the border(s) unless you're thoroughly documented, no criminal record anywhere, and you're not a potential burden. Otherwise an American, for example, can live and work freely anywhere he or she wants from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska.

Hell, if we had no social services, I would be fine with open borders too. And I am not a libertarian.

You cant mix and match libertarianism with socialism and use that as an example. It is a false example.

Libertarianism only works as a package deal, which is probably the main reason I am not a libertarian.
I wouldn't be for open borders because not all illegals are coming here for the social services or jobs. Certainly criminals, the drug runners and terrorists aren't coming here for those things.

Who are these "open border types" you speak of?

Other than a figment of right wing imaginations, I mean.

Any politician that doesn’t abide by existing immigration laws should be immediately arrested and prosecuted. The same for law enforcement. Sanctuary cities or states should not be allowed to exist. Then you have people voting for these traitors.

that's 'racist.'

Guess this is just another one of those deflections. Next?
you've never heard of the dozen-plus 2020 democratic candidates for president?

you should turn on your tv sometime.

good point. that's why not letting them in in the first place is so important.

They are like Willie Sutton. They come to where the money is. And that's not Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Then why do you so feverishly oppose any effort to apprehend and deport undocumented migrants?

I have a hypothetical that will let you know whether or not you are an “open border type”.

There is a massive earthquake. Miraculously, and thankfully, nobody is hurt, but it creates an insurmountable crevice in the earth along the US/Mexico border.

We build some bridges along the legal entry points. So now the ONLY way to come into the country from the south, is legally.

Are you happy about the outcome, or unhappy about the outcome?

If you find that you are unhappy about the outcome, then you are an “open border type”.

If you dont like my scenario, you can use any scenario that completely eliminates entry, other than at legal points of entry. Imagine a 100 foot tall, 10 feet thick titanium wall. It doesn’t have to be realistic for these purposes. It is just to assess whether or not you want people coming here illegally or not.

Why do you make up silly fantasies and post them as if you were actually attempting to make a point?

It's a childish game you play.
