The Utah legislature overwhelmingly voted to overrule Utah Gov. Spencer Cox’s veto that would have eliminated protections for girls’ sports.
The monumental vote came on Friday when the Republican-controlled House voted 56-18 to override Cox’s deciding power and the Senate agreed 21-8. Eight GOP state legislators who previously did not support the bill voted to nullify Cox’s dissent.
I'm not against transgenders but they need their own category as they are physically different then the sex/gender they say they are in spite of any hormone treatments.

Why? Why not just make them compete as their biological gender?
I've been listening to this issue on local radio news. I was wondering what would happen with that vote. Looks like they decided to stand up for women's rights. Good for them.
There was some talk about the NBA pulling finals out of the state or something if they over-rode that veto. Looks like those voting felt the same way I did about that: who gives a damn? Let the NBA screw itself.

I think the benefit to having them compete among each other would be related to the governors reason for what he did. He mentioned that he was basically concerned for the health of these individuals and how life can be tough mentally. I don't agree with letting them compete in sports they shouldn't but I can understand the concern of not wanting to see them kill themsevles.
I feel like a good compromise is to have their own league.

I agree with this. Let them compete amongst themselves, just as men and women have separate competitions of their own. But until that happens, men have no business competing in women's sports, regardless of how much their plumbing or looks is changed. Give them their own "space."

If not letting "transgender" people do what they want means that they will kill themselves, that gives credence to the fact that they're suffering from a mental illness of which they need to receive treatment for.
Happy people don't threaten to kill themselves. Sad and depressed people do. I feel "transgender" people are seeking attention by "transitioning", as if they feel they aren't valued. They need help, serious mental help!
