Most of the above plus

I want the border secured, but not with a wall

All illegals deported, and employers of illegals jailed or seize their assets

A balanced budget amendment except if the USA were invaded

A flat 10% tax on all people and businesses, no deductions for anything. It is not the job of the federal government to subsidize the choices people make

Shutting down of businesses that pollute or do harm to others or the air and water

Where does that put me on the political spectrum?

My perception of a candidate's character plays a big picture in how I will vote. I can admire and vote for someone who may not hold all my views if I think they are in it for the right reason or seem to have a reasonable thought process. I'm not so arrogant to think my opinions are the only options out there. If someone who I perceive as a reasonable individual says that a policy is needed and makes their argument plausible...I'm flexible...I'll listen...and may bend.

So I lean left socially but most of my Republican/conservative friends (including the abortion issue) side with me......Fiscally I'm more conservative than any of my conservative/Republican friends. I don't like the deficit, debt etc...I would gladly vote for an across the board cut in expenditure......or even cutting some very liberal programs (PBS).

Many people are one-issue voters and that one issue is the economy. They don't give a hoot about immigration or abortion or the environment. Trying to bucket people into pre-defined political categories doesn't work for me and a lot of people because our beliefs are all over the map.

That's not all it comes down to... and why must the poll be perfect for you or anyone else? That's impossible. Don't participate in the poll and just move along. Nothing to see here.

IT'S A FREAKIN' POLL

I would say I'm conservative on all issues, but I wouldn't say I'm "very" conservative. Those to be would be the people who support dry counties and are against alcohol, casinos, and strip clubs being open. But I'm very pro-life, I want abortion totally banned, I want no additional gun laws, I support building the wall, I think Dreamers can be given permanent residency as a compromise but never citizenship, I also believe strongly against government overregulation and want the federal government to end the war on coal and to support building pipelines and support the oil and gas industry. I want Obamacare completely dismantled and certainly oppose the Green New Deal. I'm also against BLM and racist identity politics an feel we need to embrace a common American identity.

As my "subtitle" says, I consider myself a conservative moderate, but I checked "right leaning" in the poll because I do NOT consider myself a Republican! I have never yet voted for a Republican POTUS candidate, and I have voted in every general election starting in 1972.

However, that might change after Trump leaves office, depending on what the Republican party looks like then. (And, to be honest, I might feel "forced" to vote for a Republican candidate in 2020 if it is a close race in my state, and it is a choice between him and an extreme liberal.)

Voted Right-leaning; but 2016 and last year I voted for libertarians so I don't consider myself a Republican/Conservative. My stances are:

-Smart investment towards public transportation(wish the Rs would run on this more, not just in a handful of states)
-Pro 1st and 2nd Amendment(tho I'm no gun nut and I believe 2A is an albatross on the GOP's neck)
-Hard right on immigration
-Anti-trade with China
-Federal tax should be voided for anyone making less than 100K
-Indifferent with abortion(I'm a dude)
-A healthcare system similar to Australia would work with me; public/private options
-Pro public utility districts
-Pro charter schools
-Anti-PC/SJW/bleeding heart
-Anti-union
-The Federal Reserve needs to be audited or abolished all together.

Why is there never a Libertarian option. Of the above choices, I would have to go middle with Republican leaning. But more truly Libertarian.

1. Get rid of church tax exemption and religion out of government.
2. Get rid of Federal and State income tax, altough, my state doesn't have state income tax.
3. Get rid of the Federal Reserve, a private business shouldn't control our monetary policies and supply.
4. Get rid of all Illegal Aliens. No ifs, ands/or butts. We need to kick their butts out. Secure our border and no due process for Illegals that are caught. Deport asap, including DACA recipients. And penalize and/or jail employers who hire then and landlords who rent to them.
5. Legalize Drugs, Prostitution and Abortion. Government shouldn't tell me how I should live my life. They can even generate revenue from those that use those services by taxing them
6. Pro right to bear arms.
7. Get rid of madatory insurance coverage for anything, the insurance companies are in bed with the government and taxing the citizens by forcing them to buy insurance even if not needed or wanted.
