If women are going to vote to destroy private health insurance for themselves, their families, and every other American, then I have been giving them way too much credit in the intelligence department. Same goes for men too.
While I find Trump to be personally pretty gross and he comes off like a rough sailor I can't get behind the democrats either.
I watched those Dem debates and the things that the democrats are saying just does not resonate with me. I'll probably vote for Trump just because I think the Dems have lost their way.
Working-class white women drifting away from the president
As an aside, a great many people of many a different category of voters have been so disappointed and repulsed by Trump that they have left the Republican party. That does not mean they are all becoming Democrats, but it does mean they are rejecting what has become the norm for Republican politics. This is a serious problem for the party.
Very likely, it will have the effect of growing and empowering the Democratic Party's moderate and conservative factions, and that would have a knock-on effect of drawing the support of independent moderates and conservatives in some locales. The Democrats have always been better at coalition building than the Republicans.
You don't change your core ideology just because you think that the person currently representing your party is a douchebag..
I do not disagree. But a surprising number of Americans do not actually have an ideology. Political Science is beyond them.
Many don't get passed the "motherhood, apple pie, and the flag" slogans politicians pitch in their nebulous way. Sometimes people don't know they are 'for' something until they perceive you trying to take it away, and then they still don't necessarily understand the philosophy behind a trend or policy. Many people are simply not ideological.
Social Security is like that. It was attacked as 'socialism' when it was first introduced, and that horrified a lot of voters, but I have watched several elderly Republicans rely upon it until they drew their last breath. They liked it when they needed it.
'Trump basically turned me into a Democrat': Working-class white women drifting away from the president
“I’m ashamed to admit … but I’m of a more conservative bent and family. I just couldn’t vote for Hillary. But I also thought there’s no way Trump was going to win. This way, I could at least say, ‘Well I didn’t vote for her,’” she said. “I didn’t think I was doing any harm.”
While Heather isn’t sharing her conversion far and wide, she’s already decided “there’s no chance” she’d vote for Trump again. “Heavens no,” she said. “Trump basically turned me into a Democrat.”
‘The kind of voter Trump can’t lose:’ Working-class white women drift toward Democrats
BY DAVID CATANESE
What we have seen in both the 2018 and 2019 elections has been enormous turnout, particularly in Democratic urban areas and their suburbs. The increase in urban/suburban vote has swamped the rural vote. In the Kentucky Governors Race, the increase in metro blue areas accounted for 2/3rds of the increase in the D vote vote over 2015, with 40% in Lexington and Louisville alone.
Then she was never a Conservative. This is just another bs story made up to try to woo people away from voting for Trump in 2020, because that's all the Dems have left: lies and fear mongering.
If Trump wins in 2020, I'm going to laugh even more than I did in 2016 - and that was a lot already.

What you seem to overlook is that most people have mixed positions, there is virtually no 'pure' conservative and virtually no 'pure' liberal. I doubt most people who think they are conservative could actually define it. People make internal compromises when they choose to support a political party, and the nature of this compromise can change over time.
Notably, it's not called 'the Conservative Party', it's 'the Republican Party', and many of the most noteworthy acts of the Republican Party of the past ... even the recent past, the things that we know them for, were not very conservative policies at all.
One does not need to identify as a conservative to be a Republican. It is not actually a defining characteristic of the party for the last 150 years. If we applied a litmus test of conservativism over all Republicans, many Trump supporters would fail it.
You deride these people for the decisions they make and the values they hold, but you need every one of their votes. Don't ask for their support if you can not respect them.
