Another life ruined with the pointless war in drugs.

NYPD thought they had a bust when a nosy Fedex employee called in a tip that he thought there was a lot of marijuana in one of his trucks.

It was 106 pounds to be exact. Just one problem, it was actually legal hemp that someone was receiving to a legal CBD business.

It’s amazing that as absurd as we all know the war in weed is at this point, this kind of thing is still happening even in progressive states like NY.

Last winter, something similar happened in small town Oklahoma over a large legal hemp truck shipment. After spending a month in jail two men were released with charges dropped. Hopefully, nothing like it happens again in Oklahoma.

Thanks to Republicans, legalization of the cannabis plant will not occur any time in the immediate future so unfortunately were are just going to have to get used to stuff like this.

Nah I disagree it will happen for most places in the next 5-10 years.

You say it was legal, then you say it was felony drug possession.

I'm in favor of legal pot but dear god man, you're post reads like Cheech and Chong took you for a ride in their van all day.

Basically, no it was not legal hemp so they got arrested....duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.

Why doesn't Trump, if he believes in freedom and the individual, work to get it legalized right away?

The answer is simple. Much of his base still believes in the War on Drugs. I've seen it here on CD many a time.

They believe it's detrimental to the moral fabric of society. Two-thirds of Americans support legalizing weed yet it simply cannot happen because of the Christian Right.

I think, if democracy survives, we are probably about 10-15 years from cannabis legalization in this country. If we get the theocracy that the Christian Right is currently working to create, it will never be legal.

I agree with this. I mean crap, I live in Kansas and we have gotten legal gambling, sunday booze sales and now full strength beer sold in non-liquor venues like grocery stores etc.

Why? They can't stand seeing Missouri etc. making tons of money off their own residents lmao.

It's like dominoes falling and posters like Bwac and others will go straight to partisan politics despite facts or reason because well...that's just them.

I’ll stop making it partisan whenever Missouri legalizes recreational marijuana and Kansas follows in their footsteps. Right now, that may happen but it is 5-10, maybe 15 years. Legalizing marijuana is bipartisan among millennials but among boomers, the GOP is heavily against it while the Dems are passively for it. Neither party is really doing what needs to be done on this. It always takes grassroots efforts.
