There are many ways this impeachment thing can go, here are a few:
Trump bullies the spineless Senate Republicans and not a single one votes for conviction
Giuliani is indicted for being an unregistered foreign agent and flips on Trump.
Bolton testifies to the other sketchy conversations he heard Trump have and basically is the smoking gun.
Pompeo and Pence decide they want to hang on to their tattered careers and turn on Trump.
Mulvaney sees that Trump is going to throw him under the bus and cuts a deal to save his skin
Perry also is thinking Trump is going to throw him under the bus and decides to cooperate.
There are a lot of ways that things can quickly go south on Trump. Just like with Nixon, you don't know how it will evolve but I would not count on Trump getting out of this until the House is all done. If it were such a slam dunk acquittal, Trump and the Republicans would not be running around like headless chickens.
I think someone close to Trump is going to flip. My guess is it will be Mulvaney. What do others think?
What's really nice about your post is that you point out that there are so many variables that we can't in any way predict. (Mulvaney is a good guess.)
It seems very possible to me that the whistle-blower's courage will simply inspire more and more people to come forward, names that aren't even in the headlines yet.

I continue to wonder ... do Leftists EVER consider ... What if I’m Wrong???
