This is where we are headed people. From NPR. Or did you notice when it happened a few weeks ago?

Are y'all keeping up?

The Justice Department's review of the origins of the Russia probe has become a criminal investigation, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to NPR.

It is unclear what prompted the shift from an administrative review to a formal criminal investigation, when the change took place or what potential crime is under investigation.

The change drew immediate criticism from Democrats, who have accused Attorney General William Barr of turning the Justice Department into a political weapon for President Trump.

2. Why did Trump promptly fire John Bolton after that?

3. Why are all these witnesses saying they overheard the deal on a phone call? They have nothing to gain by testifying they heard this, especially Gordon Sondland, former Trump donor.

4. Why was Yovanovitch, the anti-corruption ambassador to the Ukraine, fired after so many years of satisfactory service?

5. Why did Mick Mulvaney tell Americans to "Get over it; this happens all the time?"

6. Why is Trump obstructing the testimony of several of the witnesses if he did nothing wrong? He shouldn't be worried about their testimony if he is innocent.

7. Why was this unclassified phone call hidden on a secure log rather than the regular one if Trump wasn't attempting to conceal it?

The answer that is simple and makes sense: Trump did something wrong, and he knew it was wrong. He attempted to bribe Zelensky and failed. Hand waving about the Mueller investigation two years ago has nothing to do with Ukraine. It may be hard to understand, but a person can be cleared of an offense at one time and be guilty of a completely different offense later. One act has nothing to do with another.

Since the discussion here has turned to hypotheticals, what will the Democrats say if none of the witnesses this week testify under oath that Trump committed any bribery or engaged in criminal activity?

If this week’s testimony is just like last week’s (going nowhere), will the Democrats continue with the impeachment inquiry anyway just for the heck of it?

1. He doesn't need a reason. It is his and only his business. If the Framers had wanted anyone else to share his power and authority, they would have included them.
No one had a problem with the the Climate Change Accord and the Iran Nuclear Deal . One would have cost taxpayers billions, the other may get us nuked and we handed over billions in cash.

2. Again, it isn't a question that needs ot be answered. At all. Remember Obama saying " I'm the President " ?

3. " over heard " ? Their testimony can be challenged on a foundation of fact. What they " overheard" unless proved, is gossip.

4. Who cares, none of our business. It is the Ukraine. The most , or one of the most corrupt countries on the planet.

5. Talking about foreign policy. Not what the Obama hold overs were used to. Plenty of Government Employees with axes to grind with noses out of joint. MSM trying to confuse with shouting question after question. Other wise DC is like an open sewer for foreign dealings. That's why there are so many Lawyers there.

6. You are confusing obstructing with Executive Privilege. At his discretion. Not he Dems, not the media.

7. " Hidden " ? You mean it still exists? It wasn't lost ? Bleached ? Smashed ? On a server in the ceiling of a bathroom ? On the laptop of a sex fiend ?
Who cares? It is the White House. It was in another room, on another portal, or AP, who cares?
The POTUS released the transcript of the call right away. It didn't need a subpoena or a Dog and Pony Show.

As if Horowitz and Barr were not enough of a power house....

Prosecutor reviewing Russia probe known for tenacity, ethics
By DAVE COLLINS Associated Press NOVEMBER 1, 2019 — 10:00AM

HARTFORD, Conn. — The man leading the inquiry into the origins of the Russia probe is no stranger to politically sensitive investigations.

In his 41-year career as a prosecutor, John Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, has led investigations into the FBI's cozy relationship with Boston mobsters such as James "Whitey" Bulger and the CIA's use of tough interrogation techniques on terrorism suspects. Former colleagues and defense lawyers who have squared off against him say he is unlikely to be concerned about any fallout from his findings during this new assignment.

When it happens it will not be loud, it won't set off alarms. Justice for those who have tried to subvert the elected POTUS.

That's almost exactly what Neville Chamberlain said.

Where did I say the POTUS had Authority ?

He can ask , even ask for a favor, it is up to them to act.

How in the world do you think foreign policy negotiations work ? Horse Trading, deals, promises made promises kept.

I have said it before , and I will say it again. Let's listen to past POTUS conversations with world leaders. Let's ask for opinions on on their perception, meaning, what dignified looking Diplomats have to opine.

Let's hear what FDR, Stalin and Churchill talked about for starters.

What a ridiculous farce this is.
My objection was to your bold: the POTUS cannot direct outside this country, and even then with limitations. You appear have to have this almost instinctual view of the POTUS' power that differs substantially from I learned back in Civics 101. The word choice may appear to be mere semantics, but I don't think so.

Are you expecting those that testified behind closed doors to change their testimony? Have you read the released testimonies from those hearings?

If one of your loved ones was on the airliner the Russians shot down over Ukraine you might.
