I for one have been avoiding going to Burger King ever since it became Canadian owned. It doesn't matter if the foreign country that owns it is Canada or China, the results still remains that most of the money I spend there won't be staying in our local community or our country and will be sent abroad. We should be supporting local and American owned businesses so that the money stays in our community or at least in America.

Popeyes is interesting, it started here in Louisiana and has good, tasty Louisiana inspired food. But now that its owned by Canada in a way its just cultural appropriation now since if I go to my local Popeyes here in Louisiana, none of the money actually stays in our community.

Taco Bell serves Mexican, hence international food. It may not be totally authentic but its much more Mexican than American. The food is clearly Mexican with some American influences. There are some people who actually believe Taco Bell is a Mexican company based in Mexico but is a US company.

It's Tex Mex, if anything.

OP, here's a community fighting back against a corporation. Not sure you'll approve though.

Let's clear this up, because the way you've put things could be confusing to some. Canada (the country) owns neither Burger King nor Popeye's, nor any other company you've stated as being "owned by Canada." These companies may be owned by private interests based in Canada, but they are not owned by Canada.

So what? The CEOs of most big corporations are globalist. They are loyal to no nation, only to profits.

Foreign countries are controlling more and more American companies as a result of unfair trade agreements and laws passed by the globalist Washington elites that are allowing things like this to happen. In another thread, liberals mocked the concern that some people have over companies like Burger King, Popeyes and Circle K not owned by Americans anymore and being controlled by foreign countries, in that case Canada. They claim that since Canada isn't an enemy country, they have no problem with Canada buying up American businesses. The fact remains though, that when we go to Popeyes or Burger King now, when we buy that famous Popeyes chicken sandwich, we are no longer helping our local community or our country's economy as the money we spent will be sent to Canada. Bud LIght is one of the most iconic American products, but its now owned by a Belgian and South African company, when you buy a six pack of Bud, the money no longer stays in the US and helps Americans, it's sent to Belgium and South Africa. Again, Belgium and South Africa are not hostile nations, but is nobody bothered by the fact that more and more of the money we spend here are sent to foreign nations and not helping out Americans?
My Budweiser is made in the U.S.A. with union labor. I`m good with that.

Not only companies. American soil is increasingly foreign-owned too. Today nearly 30 million acres of U.S. farmland is held by foreign investors. That number has doubled in the past two decades, which is raising alarm bells in farming communities. There are no federal restrictions on the amount of land that can be foreign-owned, it's been left up to individual states to decide on any limitations.
For example, Ohio (like Texas) has no restrictions, and nearly half a million acres of prime farmland is held by foreign-owned entities.
And because once a foreign entity buys up however many acres they want, Americans might never be able to secure that land again. So, once we lose it, we may lose it for good.
Chinese-owned Smithfield Foods, the largest pork producer in the world, now owns 146,000 acres of prime U.S. farmland.
Nationwide, Canadian investors own the most farmland. In Ohio, it's Germany, with 71,000 acres.

Foreigners have purchased over $104 billion worth of land and real estate in the United States between April 2014 and March 2015. (Anyone may buy and own property in the United States, regardless of citizenship.) A new record, this accounts for 8% of all existing home sales in the country. Many foreigners buying with cash do not have to deal with the strict rules and regulations that banks force on foreigners. Many foreigners are able to purchase the land and overcome the restrictions that cooperatives have in place because they are a legal entity in the United States.

Tom, do you ever think that when you buy from a company like BK, you helping to support dozens of people in your community? The counter people, the manager, the guy who delivers the buns each day, all earn a living off your purchase.
OF course the profits wind up in Canada but only after local and federal taxes are paid on those profits.

But i understand, you want to pee red white and blue, so you drink Coke and Pepsi, good American companies....except....they were/are partially held through stock ownership by the Kingdom Fund, a Saudi investment group. So if you buy those products, you are sending money to Saudis, who I hate to tell you, tacitly support terrorism.

So maybe you should sheer your goat and weave a blanket and hide your head under the covers while you eat food from your garden because its the only guaranteed way to participate in 'globalism'
