Mark Sandy, OMB, testified to the House Intel Committee that Trump temporarily withheld military aid to Ukraine because of the President's concerns that other European countries were not contributing enough. He also cites email from the WH discussing exactly that. The temporarily withheld aid was released to Ukraine 3 weeks early. Zelensky did nothing in order to receive the aid.

US Total Spending on Ukraine since 2014: $3 Billion
EU Total Spending on Ukraine since 2014: $16.4 Billion

I am not sure if Trump knows he is President of the US... not EU?

Or just have poor math skills..

Nope. The EU has given $3.6 billion in assistance to the Ukraine since 2014.

"Since 2014, the EU and European financial institutions have contributed more than $16.4 billion (15 billion euros) in grants and loans, the EU spokesperson told us."

"The Europeans did a whole lot more than the United States in terms of actual cash put into the Ukrainian budget," said Samuel Charap, a Ukraine analyst with RAND, a nonprofit research organization.

It's refreshing to see that Sandy appears not to be one of those people who likes to assume for other people, as to what they are thinking. Unlike so many other witnesses he love to engage in conjecture, claiming they can speak as to what everyone else is thinking.

Question:" At this point in time, everyone -- and by 'everyone' I mean the National Security Council, DOD, OMB -- were hopeful that the hold would be lifted?"

Sandy: "I don't want to speak for my policy officials. That was again, staff-Ieve1 recommendation. And so I will not speak for my policy officials in terms of their position."

I'll believe Reuters over "factcheck" and "politifact." The latter two are propaganda vehicles.

What kind of assistance, beans and band-aids, or bullets?

That's an important point. The US is providing anti-tank missiles to the Ukraine, something Obama refused to do. Perhaps that's the "more flexibility" Obama promised Russia's Medvedev he would have after the 2012 election: stifle the Ukraine's ability to defend itself.

He's just a liar. Trump operates in a nebulous cloud of falsehoods. The man is toxic.
