A lady who works with me scoffed at the idea of working some overtime hours. She would get double pay for it, but she was like, no thank you, because the more I work, the more gets taken out of my check and goes to things that don't benefit me at all.

I also know several people who turned down raises because they want to stay below a certain wage so they can take advantage of welfare benefits. I asked one why would she turn down $150,000 a year and stay at $30,000, thinking she could buy a house and get out of her apartment, and she's like, what's the point of owning a house? You still have to pay for it and you can't even just pass it off to your kids like she could if she still lived in Mexico, so it's better for her to just get section 8 and EBT cards.

And this makes me wonder, if the democrats won everything in the USA, their plan is to tax the hell out of all successful people to pay for all the losers who voted for them, so really, what's the point of me or anyone else working hard to be successful if the democrats are just going to tax me to hell for it? I'm single and have no kids or dependents except my mother, but she doesn't count, so I sure won't be getting any kind of tax break. And every year, it's getting harder and harder to keep my businesses afloat, and the company I work for is also hurting with all of the regulations and taxes. I'm thinking of just selling off my properties, farm and my interest in a bar, and just go live off the grid. Heck, the company I work for is seriously thinking of moving it to Vietnam.

And I just have to wonder, the countries that have the socialism that the democrats here are striving for, how is their innovation been since they became socialists? Seems to me that in the past, the USA was the place to go to try new things and think outside the box, to reach for the stars, but if we keep taxing the hell out of those dreams, then why even bother trying?

I don't know any Democrat that makes 30K....lol....they are all in six figures. I guess we live in different bubbles.

So I can't relate to your perception.

Excellent points! I suggest you quit your job and live in a hut by the beach collecting off the government dole. Then you can really take revenge on the Democrats.

I find this reasoning weird. Leave the politics out of it - why do you think how other people choose to live their lives, including how they react to the tax system, is a valid reason for you to not do stuff? - neither Bill Gates nor Steve Jobs let that worry them.

There are more young millionaires today than there have ever been. They didn't get there by pissing and moaning about taxes or other peoples' behavior.

And I know for a fact you are lying and pulling stuff out of your anus. All section 8 housing that I know, is going to democrat voters. Everyone I know who works in retail and fast food joints that are lucky to be making 30 grand a year, tend to vote democrat. Heck, even the newly elected mayor of Palm Beach County is a democrat, and he's making only $50,000 a year and is asking for $80,000. The majority of your school teachers are making well below 6 figures, AOC was a bartender and we all know damn well she wasn't making no 6 figures. So again, stop talking out of your anus.

Heck, explain how people keep voting for Maxine Waters, obvious democrat, but everyone in her district is below poverty lines! Only democrats that live big, are the ones ripping off from other people, like the corrupt Clintons.

I'm sorry but you must know really stupid people. I have never met anyone like that.

They got where they were back when this country wasn't socialist. But they also took their business and had it built outside of the USA, thanks to NAFTA.

And the millionaires today will be broke in about 10 years. All too common. And even then, is a million bucks all that much today? Inflation probably has a lot to do with it, kind of like how Avengers End Game made 2 billion, but Gone with the Wind still has sold the most tickets. I have an annual income of about 3 to 5 million a year, but trust me, it doesn't go as far as it used to.

You will see, this is a system that is going to destroy all first world nations.

Well, she is a Mexican immigrant, and is only doing what she is taught by the system.

People use all kinds of excuses to be lazy.

Example: If you tax double wages you will still have at minimum 1.5X more than if you sat at home typing with us here. Perhaps that is the reason for their lack of economic success.

The truth is that Americans in general dislike high taxes. That is why Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and others who talk about raising taxes to outrageous levels simply don't have any reasonable chance of becoming POTUS.

They are misplaced and would have better luck running for office in some European country.
