For 3 days? They are just waiting for a response. Doesn't make a good headline, though.

It's only a 10 day stay, which the democratic house already agreed to. SCOTUS could actually refuse to hear the case and then Trump would be up the creek without a Barr.

Why did you leave out 'temporarily' from the thread title?

In fact, I'm surprised Trump is this squeaky clean.
The IRS would catch tax code violations. It isn't their job to determine or report whether certain sources of Trump's income might present an ethical violation.

If we are going to do that shouldn't we be requiring the tax returns of all politicians? Pelosi in her own words claims to have an equal amount of power as Trump and to some degree she is correct. Certainly it's substantial amount of power and if Trump's tax returns should be opened for investigation so should hers.

That said we all know what their purpose is. Trump has $1000 an hour tax lawyers who spend weeks or months preparing his taxes, the Democrats and the media want to summarize it in a few words to embarrass him.

Simmer down, righties. It is just a procedural thing to give democrats time to respond to Trump's appeal.

You are very correct, and whatever baseless slander emerges will be repeated on CNN, MSNBC, ect.
