Pretty sad when you have to hold classes for certain basic skills that parents should be passing down to their kids.

Pretty sad when folks are mad about institutions making education of certain basic skills that people haven't learned from their parents available to them.

thats my point. We have an entire generation of people who can't do their own wash because their parents were too "busy" to show basic life skills to their kids.

yeah why is that? It wasn't baby boomers who gave us that title.

We are just going on about our lives not being snowflakes because someone said a "trigger word" and raising our kids to responsible adults.

GenX is not on social media bragging about being an "adult" for doing the wash. I mean c'mon really.

Our local Boy Scouts provide all of that and more - with hands on learning in real time, matched to developmental stage. It is not solely a religious organization. Members span different religions, nationalities, and cultures.

It's a great resource for those without access to those instructions in their home life, and a source for reinforcement of those skills taught by parents at home.
