I have a visceral dislike for Harris. I can't quite explain it but there is something about her that is really off-putting - perhaps it is because she comes across as fake. I don't feel that way about any of the others running and seeking the Democratic nomination.

With regard to her being African-American, I am not sure how this works: her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian and so she claims that she is black. I have no doubt that if it were to her advantage, she would claim she is an Indian-American. She is seeking the African American vote and so she claims that as being her heritage.

We saw the same with Obama - his father was Kenyan and his mother was white but he proclaimed himself to be black.

She also took on Willie Brown. not sure that qualifies as a reason to elect her.
