DeSantis is delaying the measure until he can add language that the felon must first pay all fines, courts costs, legal fees, ect. associated with his felony.

DeSantis also wants language limiting the restored voting rights to State & local elections, and not Federal elections which is consistent with how other States have implemented this change.

The OP knows very well that Florida's Ron DeSantis has approved Millions of Dollars in Red Tide Research, and Billions to rebuild the Lake Okechobee water retention walls so more water could be held in the lake, as opposed to releasing it into canals where it could later cause harm. President Trump also sought Billions of Dollars for this water retention improvement, but thus far Nancy Pelosi's congress has blocked the bill from being passed. The Democrats are playing politics with Florida's environment.

Florida's Governor DeSantis has been applauded by both the Miami Herald and the Orlando Sun Sentinel for his environmental accomplishments thus far. So, we have TWO left leaning newspapers applauding their State's Conservative Governor.

I rate the OP's comments as: MOSTLY FALSE! He's trying to take advantage of Americans who might not be familiar with Florida politics. Florida's Red Tide this year is much less severe than last year, and tourism has been up up up since the Great Recession eased. Red Tide has not made a dent in Florida's economy, or tourism growth. 2019 will be yet another record breaking tourist season, and Republican Governor Ron Desantis will continue to win praise from both sides of the aisles for his environmental achievements.

You know this refrain from Rs that Ds support child rape is really getting pathetic.

Especially considering that religion (usually Rs domain) is the only institution to have recently been broadly indicted and proven to have actually conducted the most widespread and internally tolerated practice of child rape in recent history.

This is so typical.....when no one is looking the Republican leadership does the complete opposite of the Will of the People. Why even have Ballot Measures if they are just pretend?

Meanwhile, Desantis also continued doing little or nothing about the horrible pollution and Red Tide - and now, just as the season starts, there are major outbreaks of the deadly algae all along the West Coast.

It would be really nice for Florida to actually do what people voted for (they voted long ago for money to fix the Everglades which would help the Red Tide, etc.).
What is wrong with Floridians? Why did Rick Scott, who would not allow the words 'climate change' to be spoken, turn around and win a seat in the Senate?

The most baffling state in the nation.

They didn't like the results, so they're choosing to ignore them.

I agree that the OP should have posted this in the Florida forum. This was a softer target.

There's a place to post this place versus that place, and it could have gone there too.
