What an awful person. "Honored" by an even worse enemy of free speech.

He's a globalist, anti-independent media, bag of slime. And his schtick is dull.

I'm not sure where you're going with this considering the very limited context of the original post, however, it is true that Facebook and Twitter attract some idiotic comments in general but I'd frame it this way based on my own opinions:

1. Due to the 1st amendment, it is much more problematic for the government to try and deny "hate" speech (that can have such varying definitions, which can be a problem) than a private enterprise such as Facebook or Twitter saying "that is not going to be allowed here on our platform that we own and we're going to remove it because that's not what we're about". The 1st amendment generally does protect idiotic speech.

2. The government can and should require certain standards of behavior for companies that are receiving corporate welfare ("incentives"). If they are giving Facebook or Twitter a big tax break, but these platforms are allowing racist, or other hate speech, the government has the right to pull the checkbook away.

Note: I went back and read the comments above me which were put out before I finished typing. These were attacking the person delivering the message. In my opinion, this is missing the point, so I'm going to stick with my points rather than focus on who is delivering the message (who doesn't mean anything to me one way or another).

As long as holy books like the Bible and Koran aren't regarded as hate speech, then the whole notion of hate is a silly one.

how to I edit the title of the thread? I need to change "toat" to read simply to?

I wonder did any of those responders actually watch the speech? It is some 24 mins long and the replies come rapidly after I posted the original post. I think he raises some interesting points about holocaust deniers and white supremacists having a place on these social media platforms.

Yep, some folks tend to ignore the obvious.

Rowan Atkinson made one of the best speeches in relation to free speech.

Atkinson and many others successfully campaigned for the scrapping of Section 5 of the UK Public Order Act in relation to insulting speech being a criminal offence.

Reform Section 5 | Feel free to insult me
