It's amazing how bawac34618 makes things up and wont discuss policy because the ones he backs are known failures.

If only people knew and exercised their rights and more importantly all the dirty cops are held accountable when they break the law. Instead it's the taxpayers who have to shell out.
If he is making stuff prove it because your failure to do so makes you look like a troll.

The cops should be able to ask questions but you have the right to not answered.

Do we really need a law that further shackles the Police? They have a Right to ask questions if they feel something is not right and we have the Right not to answer those questions.

Lets say some terrorist with a bomb in the trunk of his car gets pulled over for a traffic violation, the cop suspects something is afoot due to the way the driver is acting so he probes a bit further and finds the explosives and stops the attack. What if the cop lets the guy go even though he feels something is going to happen but he is not allowed to follow his instincts and the terrorist detonates the bomb next to a school? We would all be questioning why that cop didn't do more to stop the attack.

The same goes for illegal drugs, illegal guns. There has been countless times when a cop gets a feeling and pulls someone over and uncovers other crimes. I sat on a jury once where that happened, the officer had made a traffic stop and found the 2 guys in the car were moving a load of heroine.

We pay the Police to keep us safe and 99% of the time they do a good job so lets not shackle them anymore with ridiculous laws.

lol yeah just try refusing to answer... Cops intimidate people just by their presence the courts recognize that. There is no reason to play 20 questions with someone who got pulled over for a broken taillight. It's a fishing expedition and doesn't lead to 'solving crime' it almost always ends up with a person being charged for possession of a small amount of drugs.

Arresting someone for a baggie of meth doesn't make us safer. And yes we need to make sure that cops comply with the 4th amendment.

I agree with you. A police officer doesn't go around asking every single person they pull over about drugs and weapons. They develop an instinct for that and we should trust them.

Again looking for the ends to justify the means.

It did solve a crime. They found the drugs. I’ve been stopped before (though very rarely). The cops never ask me about drugs. When I was younger they would ask us where the parties were at. We never talked to them.

Ask the family members of the addict that is hooked on meth. Of course one baggie being removed from the streets is hardly a drop in the bucket but it is something. That one baggie could have been used to hook someone on the junk or possibly emboldened the guy to become a dealer that eventually is gunned down by some gang/cartel members for getting on their turf. The traffic stop and subsequent search that found the drugs may have actually saved the guys life. Who knows.

Of course the Police need to follow the law and comply with the 4th amendment but why stifle them from asking questions? They should retain the Right to ask them as we have the Right not to answer.

It is all about the ignorant public, not knowing their rights.
Brainwashed to submit to authority, no matter what the directive is.
Sheepe. Property.
Now, momma has to tell them not to talk to you. Because you don't know you can stay silent, without repercussions.
