He really means the 1950s, but if he said that the media would run with it due to the racist stigma the era has. When will the Republican Party ever stop trying to police every aspect of people's private and sex lives? When will Republicans accept that the founding documents of our country do not require everyone to be a fundamentalist Christian? People need to accept that the "good ole days" aren't coming back, even if they destroy the country trying to bring them back.

As a (lower-case) libertarian, my problem wit the OP is NOT his personal issues, but that he seeks to blame all of his life's disappointments and shortcomings on a monolithic conservative/Republican ideology which doesn't exist in the first place…..and never has.

Right...because the nobody from Alabama speaks for the entire right leaning populace of the United States

Why don't you post up another poll...just so you can have your stereotype be proven wrong like your other polls. When are you going to learn that just because one votes or leans right doesn't mean they want a bible thumping cult to take over.

what really ticks him off is that moore said 1960's/1970s, not 1950's.

The democrats were in power in the 1950s during the Jim Crow South Era. Every single Jim Crow Law was passed by a democratic state legislature. In all 4 Civil Rights Acts, republicans voted in a much higher percentage for those acts than democrats did.
Republicans didn't gain control of the Southern Congress until the early 1990s. The less racist the South became, the more republican it became.

So instead of falsely playing the race card against the republicans, own your parties overt, racism.

Or how about stop falsely stating any of that as fact. The parties changed drastically around that point, the people didn’t.

He meant the 1950s, but that would be taken as racist if he said it since it was pre-civil rights. The 1960s/70s are the era that brought us the hippies and the sexual revolution, which conservatives believe were responsible for the downfall of American morality.
