We now know the recent Emerson poll was an outlier.
Two new polls have support for removal at 50%.
There’s been some discussion that maybe Dems would back off impeachment if more polls showed support slipping. That doesn’t seem to be the trend.
When support for Trump's removal goes just a bit higher, many republicans will realize that if they don't pick another candidate for the next election, they will lose not only the presidency, but he will pull many more congressional seats away from them, as well. The terror in their hearts at losing the presidency and having a democratic super-majority in the Senate, would be a sight to behold.
Who are those leftists who spend every waking moment devising ways to destroy Trump? What sort of obsession is this? Which part of the universe does this stem from? Where does such words as disgusting emanate from? From the abyss?
Maybe, not every waking moment, but at least a few, thinking about a new president and commander in chief. No obsession, just concerned Americans about getting our country back again?

Republicans care about state polls, not national. CA & NY each have 2 Senators, same as Alabama and Alaska. Ds have to defeat 20 Republican Senators and not lose any D Senators in 2020 to reach 67 D's. Fat chance. And don't forget that electoral college thingy when it comes to popular vote and prez elections.

I wonder if there is a one-subject vote-tracking site for impeachment yet.
It would be pathetic if the Dems backed off, win or lose. You're supposed to stand up for something because it's right, not because you're backing a sure thing.
He's not going to be impeached or removed from office and he'll probably win again. There's nothing here but a lot of partisan manufactured controversy. I'm talking to the 99% of people who don't know what the Constitution is, what the Bill of Rights is, what the 3 branches of government are, what kind of political system we ACTUALLY have.....but are completely and utterly convinced that someone is is worse than Hitler and needs to be removed from office before the country is blown up.

Well, doug jones is gone, he can only get very little money support from within AL.....all his money is from outa state....
Last poll I saw on nate silver's twitter reflected 11% of republicans, 44% of independents, and 85% of democrats support removal.
not surprisingly, overwhelming number of republicans reject impeachment and democrats overwhelmingly support it.
most interesting, however, was the majority independents did not support impeachment of trump. these guys swing elections.
