All the Democrats I talk to seem so confident that Trump is easily beaten. Looks like they don't have the same level confidence when they answer private polling questions.
Quote:
Barely a majority of Democrats, just 51%, believe that Joe Biden is likely to beat Trump, according to a recent Gallup poll. For Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, the numbers tumble to 16% and 15%, respectively. Democrats are none too confident in their own.

Apparently you are not acquainted with representative or random sampling or probability theory.
"Your personal survey" is bogus no matter how many Democrats you've "talked to"...public polling these days is hard enough let alone having some C-D poster pontificating from his or her sofa.
As I've said in other threads when the incumbent runs for re-election and the economy is doing well I say that gives the incumbent home field advantage.
Democrats are wise to not be over confident. Best to stay out of the prediction game. Instead focus on: staying on message, running a good ground game and push for a good turn out.

Yes, it is an opinion piece. But the poll numbers are from the Gallup Poll. The OP should have linked directly to the Gallup Poll so we could have a less partisan discussion of the issue. Nevertheless, the Gallup Poll does professional and statistically sound survey research.

Doesn't seem the left leaning sources place much faith in the dimcrat clown car either. Who would place faith in any one of those losers? What an embarrassment for the DNC, maybe they could get Hillary to run again to lose to Trump. It's what she does best.
It's going to be hard. What's news about that? Trump has an immutable and energized base. There are more Dems but they need to find a candidate that will motivate them, as much as they hate Trump, to get out and vote. The lineup leaves alot to be desired. Winning elections is much more about media and celebrity than preparation and suitability now. The Dems just don't have anyone with the "it factor" except possibly Buttigieg and it's too early to tell with that
On the bright side, they have been beating the Republicans like an old rug in most of the off year elections winning back hundreds of state legislative, seats, governorships, and state houses. Trump is historically unpopular. The economy is propped up on hope and prayers and ready to collapse from tariffs. There are new swing states open to Dems under the right circumstances. Polling generally favors all the Dem candidates. It's 50/50 and too early to tell.
I think the Democrats are looking to 2024. However, with more people becoming acutely aware of their promotion of Illegal Aliens over legal Citizens, and zeal for bribing the electorate with "free stuff" can that message even resonate then? They will either have to become more centrist or continue to lose.

I hope that the voters continue to reject the Dimorats until they become more centrist and I believe they will.
