Somewhat correct.

He says he's not a Democrat and that proclamation alone is good enough for the GOP.

Cuz this guy used to claim Blue membership, had pajama parties with Bill & Hill Dawg, and currently has policies so Marxist in nature that they'd make Karl himself blush with envy.

I'm guessing you don't get that......
A lot of Americans do want what the rest of the world has and if you looked at latest life expectancy in the U.S you should understand why.

But if you’re wealthy in the U.S it really is far superior in many regards which is why the wealthy elite want to keep it that way and why they keep you supporting the wealthy elite agenda, millionaires like Hannity, Limbaugh, Tucker, Trump, etc., they give you their talking points.

Party support for Trump is 100% poll driven. If his approval ratings drop to 30% and GOP senators think their seats are in danger, they will drop Trump like a hot rock. Only a handful of diehards in Congress actually subscribe to Trump's worldview.

We were told by the doomsayers that the economy would crash if Trump was elected. But that didn't happen. Instead, we have the best economic performance in the United States in decades. So, the kind of hypothetical you're proposing isn't meaningful. The reality is what counts.

Plus, Trump is building the Wall to keep illegal aliens from crossing the Mexican border into the United States. That should have been done decades ago, so I have nothing to argue with that.

Since tRump ran his operations in and from NYC, he donated to Dem politicians, because that was the only way to buy some political influence.

He wasn't a Dem himself, judging by his statements.

But today's tRump followers have to pretend that he was.

It doesn't work.

Today is a totally different story, and what caused that change ? Is that that they have had their eyes opened because he has done such a marvelous job ? No, I think it is due to two other factors:

1) No matter how you slice it, Trump does have a base of supporters. They seem unshakable in their support, regardless of whatever he does. The GOP realizes that, and are afraid to turn that base against themselves by ever saying, or doing, anything negative toward Trump. They will turn a blind eye to protect their own jobs, regardless of if it flies in the face of them doing their jobs or not.

2) They have NO ONE ELSE TO RUN for President in 2020. Pence is a total flop, has the personality of a frog, and, if Trump was gone, any Democratic contender could beat Pence. They know they need Trump to have a chance to retain the White House next year, so he is all they have.

What do you think ? Will the GOP ever hold their heads up and do what they were elected to do, or will they continue to cower in fear and allow Trump to get away with anything he wants ?
There is one reason they protect and tolerate Trump. It's because of his support w/in the Republican voters.

The minute the polls start to show a drop in support for Trump from the voters - the GOP will drop him like a hot potato.

The GOP is the Republican voters, not the politicians. The politicians can't drop Trump because they didn't elect him.

If the rest of the world is better than the US, why do a majority of the world's immigrants come to America.

Why don't Democrats oppose mass immigration to America if they view it as worse than other countries.

Trump is popular because America LIKES him, period. Unlike Hillary, that NOBODY could stand.
