While I admit that booing the president's wife is inappropriate.....her husband did call their city a "rat-infested mess that no human being would want to live in."

If a democratic president like Obama called a deep-red city "rat infested mess" and then Michelle visited that city, I'm pretty sure the locals would boo her, too.

I bet most of us can agree on that.

she wanted to be legal, unlike the illegal family members of Obama living here while he was President.

Ah, but that's the difference between Obama/Michelle and Trump/Melania. Obama would never call any city a rat infested mess.

I'd rather listen and see her than previous first ladies including Hillary. Yuck!
Why don’t you go ahead & provide factual links to these supposed daily events she’s sweating over. And go ahead & answer my question of what job is getting done by trump.

Of course, because the Obamas are graceful, kind, respectful people.

Unlike the man-child Donald Trump, Barack Obama was able to disagree with people without feeling the need to insult and demean them.

according to the OP article, the audience was primarily comprised of middle and high schoolers. The kids' very rude behavior of booing and interrupting the first lady's appearance at the Baltimore event and her 5 minute speech reflects how poorly they have been raised by their parents.

I guess you would say the same for Trump. When I was in school I was learning from the president at the time" ask not what my country can do for...…. but what I can do for my country". Now our president is teaching kids to put a nasty adjective in front of people's names if you don't agree with them (Shifty Shift, Little Marco Crazy Bernie) and no child should listen to him speak because he just ridicules, lies, mocks and swears.. Last night swearing with an audience swearing back. He teaches this behavior. He is a poor example of a man and poor example of what our president should be. He is a side show reality show freak.

My guess is she didn't know it was a hostile environment. Does anyone here think she actually pays attention to anything outside of what she will be wearing? The woman is a gold digging porn model who latched on to a sugar daddy and dropped an anchor baby for insurance. She's as much of a consummate liar as her husband is (lied about a college degree, lied about speaking multiple languages, perpetrated the lie about Obama's birth certificate.)

She's a bubble brain who barely managed to learn to speak passable English despite being here for decades. She has done absolutely nothing of value for society despite being in a position of great wealth and privilege. Every First Lady has taken on a cause and worked tirelessly to promote it across the country. What has Melania ever done with her position as First Lady beside tell us very directly and emphatically that she doesn't care?

She might have been able to skate on her lies had she used her title and position to do even one single thing for the good of the country. She hasn't.

In short, she has done absolutely nothing to deserve any respect.

I was wondering the same thing myself.

I checked and it seems she makes appearances alongside Trump.

She was there when Trump carried on about what a special breed (whatever it might be) Conan the dog is. She stood silently to one side but there are photos of her in the media. She didn't say anything, so not sure what the press could cover. The coat?

She stood by while he pardoned the turkeys. Photos of same.

Stood by while he awarded the National Medals of Art.

Stood by while Trump welcomed President of Turkey and his wife.

...

Checked her FB page. Couldn't find anything that the press didn't cover.

Not sure that standing around counts as an event, but whatever.

What with the holidays, there seems to be a number of ceremonies, welcoming the Christmas tree and all.

Some months, she goes weeks without making an appearance.

Exactly. She is an ornament and nothing more. She has a great opportunity to do some good for the country but she chooses to merely be a decoration instead. What a contrast from former First Ladies who dedicated a lot of time to good causes. As a First Lady she is a useless dud.

Not true at all.

I live here, in former representative Elijah Cummings district. I enter my basement apartment through an alley and I have never seen a rat. When I go to work driving straight through the city at 5:30 AM, I've looked, no rats to be seen. Not saying there aren't any at all in Baltimore but I have never seen one in my area or driving through downtown.

The streets are clean (signs all over the neighborhood when the street cleaners come) and it is quiet and safe. And I might add it's very affordable, likely some of that is due to the stereotype of this entire vibrant city.

Just Trump spewing his usual hate and lies. Any Baltimorean with a conscience would have distaste for the Trumps. I know I do, and it runs deeper than what he said about the city I live in.

Baltimore has it's share of crime but it's concentrated in certain neighborhoods, like most big cities in America.
