Good.

Since both teams are Marxist morons we should all suffer equally.

Equal outcomes, remember?

Trump, the big Marxist himself, has yet to dissolve and replace Obamacare (with ease as he stated).

And that's because my life, your life, the guy over there *points to a street corner with a man sitting on a bench*...his life...is nothing to these people.

You don't get it.

It was never your money, comrade.

The government doesn't stash away the money it specifically stole from you and put it in a brown lunch bag marked "Mike" to use on you at a later date.

The government sees it like this:

It allowed you to live. It allowed you to work (or not...what the hell does it care because if you don't work that only means it can redistribute money to people whose sole purpose is to process you thru its maze of means tested benefits). Everything you have is theirs and simply on loan to you. They ask you be grateful for having the honor of serving it.

After it takes from you it redistributes to everyone as it sees fit. This goes for roads, health care, education, police, fire, etc.

Some of you are under the impression that this truly is something to be grateful for. Actually nearly all of you feel this way as both Team Red and Team Blue subscribe to this philosophy. Oh sure, on the surface Blue wants more of the booty for health care and education while Red would like some more for police and military but in the end it's the same crappy system: stolen money (because government doesn't and can't create wealth) used on crappy overpriced services wrought with corruption.

Remember to be grateful for it Mike. And don't forget to vote. Maybe the next vote will be the time the stars align and this completely unworkable paradigm will miracously be "fixed".

Not true. Many people who receive Medicaid benefits have paid contributions into Medicare, some for long enough to have full Medicare credits. They just currently have low income and assets, often due to past medical bills that decimated their resources.

Medicaid is for deadbeats according to cultural conservatives. Medicare is of some high magical quality because they paid in to it...in their warped minds.

The joke is on all of us: they both suck and you have been fleeced either way. Still, the GOP is in Marxist-denial so Blue has done something right for once: frame it as Medicare for all.

So good for Blue. And eat it, Red. You talk big but you crack in the end. Exhibit A being Trump easily dismantling and replacing Obamacare if elected.

Still waiting on it, Big Daddy Tariff.
You realize that Canada's single payer system is called Medicare, don't you? So there's more to it than righties think....

Of course the military is the biggest suck for that money.
Actually, it's not. Social programs are the biggest suck and they don't even have a Constitutional mandate like the military does. Social programs, according to the Constitution, are the purview of each state. 10th Amendment. The Fed Gov needs to stop overstepping its Constitutional limits. It's causing extreme overspending.

To see what actually is in the Fed Gov's purview, according to the Constitution, read the enumerated list in Article 1 Section 8.

Should watch this video of Germanys healthcare system compared to the US.

Private insurance.
Private doctors.
50% Private hospitals.

Costs nearly half compared to the US, and far better results.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d3QLPdHysc

The US is subsidizing the Private Healthcare system with 6-8% of your ENTIRE GDP!!
Republicans claim they care reeeeeeeally much about the deficit.. when they could save 6-8% of the ENTIRE US GDP by just going for the Medicare for All bill Bernie Sanders wrote. Over night... $1.2-1.6 Trillion each year!!

Not to mention all the positives by much more healthy population that would also increase GDP.

Bad choice of a name.

We need universal health care but they should have called it something else because calling it Medicare is turning people against it.

"Reparations" for those who paid into medicare then?

EVERYBODY perceives that they have been screwed by somebody. However, that is life and does not necessarily "deserve" compensation.

Not according to SCOTUS. Helvering v. Davis found that Social Security does not contravene the 10th.

I will take the word of SCOTUS over some anonymous poster on the Internet.

Medicaid is actually run as a loan program. If you have a house and receive Medicaid, they will put a lien on it when you die and take it to pay for all your treatment. Does that make you feel better about Medicaid freeloaders?
