The U.S. government labels X as a terrorist organization.

Pot, meet kettle.

The United States can’t handle its own drug issues. Look at the opioid crisis and how outta control that is.

I don’t pay taxes to help fix Mexico’s problems. Perish that ridiculous thought.

I hope Trump does do this. I think it is a good idea.

By designating the cartels as terrorist groups, it may help curtail the approximately 250,000 guns, rifles and weapons purchased every year by the Mexican cartels from American gun dealers and sellers. These weapons are fueling the cartel crime wave.

It is estimated that nearly 25% of all gun dealers in the border states rely on this trade to stay in business.

Expect the NRA to oppose this change.

Then watch all these Trumpist posts favoring this change in designation suddenly change.

So you want the United States to help take on Mexico’s drug war? Why? Because we’ve been such a smashing success at fighting our own?

You have to be joking!! Its the US that is demanding all these drugs!

Let me get this straight...the US is going to target the drug cartels as terrorists, when its US citizens that are buying these drugs as fast as they can be produced? LOL

Law enforcement also relies on this industry for a big portion of their budget, In my county alone, drug crime and drug related crime make up 70% of ALL crime!

Left wing liberal laws and control of the popular culture are to blame.

As much as I detest drug cartels, that's stretching the definition of terrorism.

Terrorism is (or at least should be) committing violent or otherwise highly destructive acts in the name of a political statement, not in the name of mere money-making as drug cartel's goal is.
