Season's Greetings, y'all!

Trump at rally vows to supporters no name change for 'Thanksgiving'
HA HA HA! And the lemmings clapped and shouted that their Orange God would protect them from a lie he just invented.

That's actually the point of my OP. Folks, including me, are harping on the fake War n Christmas, but what we have is a president who will make up ish on the fly and his supporters will lap it up without any evidence to support his asinine claims. The trouble is not the President Trumps makes ish up. It's that good, decent people will lap it up when it's so obviously a lie. This is extremely troubling. Maybe Rudy found one guy ranting about Thanksgiving online and put a bug into Trump's ear who now thinks it's the Democratic Party platform to do away with the holiday altogether.

Nah, Trump just made up a big fat lie on the fly

"You know, some people want to change the name Thanksgiving,"

What a bunch of bull. The man can't stop manufacturing BS no matter how silly it sounds.

Not to mention the fact that no one has heard anyone suggest the name should be changed.

There is a petition to rename Thanksgiving to “Indigenous People’s Appreciation Day”.

17 people have signed it.

https://www.change.org/p/the-people-...titions_browse

Trump chose to make this a part of his pitch.

This is not what happened, incidentally. A bunch of people thought it would be nice to include other creeds and faiths, so "Happy Holidays" became a thing. A bunch of right-wing media figures decided that they could sell that as offensive, and their dimwit audience ate it up.

TLDR; the offended party was that sizable portion of Christians who feel their privilege being reduced is the same as prosecution. Because they're, not to put a fine point on it, operating on emotion and not facts.

Anyway, Trump as per usual made up something to tell his audience "you''re victims!" and his audience as per usual cheers him on, because they really like feeling that they're acting in self-defense and not as the horrible human beings they are. It's an old crowd manipulation trick. And it tends to end badly.
