I'm sure there are some idiots that want to do away with Thanksgiving. It doesn't mean as a whole people want to do away with the Holiday; irregardless of politics.
Manufacture a problem, claim recognition for a non-solution.
While I am not a religious person, I still appreciate when people wish me a "Merry Christmas" and I return the sentiment. It is the intent and thought that counts. These days, every little offering of best wishes should be appreciated.
People who get upset over stupid things should just stay at home. People who react to such stupid things that others do should also just stay home. When my children whine over stupid stuff I put them into their corner.. sad that we should treat adults in the same manner.
Thanksgiving is a non-religious holiday for Americans to celebrate the bounty Native Americans shared with the Pilgrims. It is all about being thankful for the food that you have and sharing with others, which includes Soup Kitchens for those far less fortunate. Nothing political about it.
When we lived in Florida, our next door Snowbird neighbors were British citizens. They did not celebrate Thanksgiving, but did wish us a Happy Thanksgiving.
I know people who want to have it outright banned. Saying it's offensive to Native Americans. But it's just more of the crazy leftists who are hell bent on destroying the USA in ever which way they can.
